Are early blood products associated with the development of significant AKI? @BenWStocker presents data at @estesonline from the ACS TQIP registry answering that exact question. We found that whole blood and platelets were associated with AKI even after adjusting for confounders such as age, mechanism, and injury severity. Do the platelets cause microvascular clotting? Is there an inflammatory reason for this?
