Earlier today emergency services attended reports of a “serious collision” on Mauldeth Road West, in Withington. North West Ambulance Service have confirmed one person was taken to hospital in a serious condition. The road remains closed.

At around 18:00hrs today emergency services responded to a light aircraft crash at St Michael's airfield, north of Preston. North West Ambulance Service said a patient had been taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with an ankle injury. The @aaibgovuk are investigating.
