Tinubu in Jos Confirms ‘Don't Vote for Me’ Prediction on Power Supply During the 2023 campaign, President Tinubu made a clear electoral promise: “If I don’t give you constant electricity in four years, don’t vote for me for a second term.” When he took office in 2023, Nigeria had a power supply of over 4,000 megawatts and lower tariffs. Today, the electricity power supply is less than 4,000 megawatts on the average, and Nigerians are paying higher tariffs. Nigeria currently has the lowest per capita electricity consumption in the world, with a rate below 30% of the African average. Africa’s average is 617kwh, Nigeria’s is 144 kWh. This means that Nigerians consume least electricity than other Africans. In a glaring display of disregard for promises and a lack of trust, President Tinubu, during a brief airport stopover to visit grieving families of the Jos attack on Thursday, April 2, 2026, stated that one of the reasons for his 10-minute stay was that the airport had no electricity. “You have no light here I fly out in ten minutes” At a time when Nigerians are enduring days without power, our leaders cannot even stay a few minutes without it. Now is the time to stop incompetent leaders—those lacking the capacity and compassion—who prioritise their own comfort over the well-being of the people and make empty promises. No big announcements, no validation, just me showing up every day and figuring it out as I went. At first my only goal was simple. Just get better, earn something, prove to myself that I could actually make this work. And I did. But like most people, there were moments where it started to feel like that was enough, like I could slow down a bit. That mindset is dangerous. Because the moment you tell yourself this is okay, you stop pushing. And when you stop pushing, you stop growing. I had to change that. I shifted my focus. I stopped just trying to get by and started building something real. I leaned into Web3, started putting myself out there, connecting with people and creating opportunities instead of waiting for them. And that changed everything. It made me realize something. A lot of people don’t lack motivation. They’ve just outgrown their reason. When your goals are too small, your effort becomes small. When your vision expands, your actions follow. Right now I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m far from where I started and that gap means everything to me. So I’m raising the standard again. Bigger goals, more visibility, building things that actually matter and not getting comfortable too early. If you’ve been part of my journey in any way, I appreciate you. after Cysic’s team put out their initial distribution details - I've been speaking with the team over the weekend to give feedback from both us and the wider community. their Kaito Earn card didn’t specify timings, but the wider impression was that there would be more at TGE. based on discussions, they’ve now agreed on an updated distribution schedule, including doubling the amount at TGE, 0.1% coming within 8 weeks, and then the remaining 0.3% within 6 months. they’ve also agreed on a 1/2 multisig, shared with us for the remaining distributions in order to ensure transparency. more generally, we are taking community feedback very seriously and are working towards changes including updating all Earn cards this week to avoid rewards being subject to different interpretations. always iterating and improving - thank you all
