Still scratching my head trying to figure out how employer National Insurance contributions of 15% in 2023 didn't result in price increases/workers layoffs, but restoring employer National Insurance contributions back to 15% in 2024 will when economic conditions are much improved

@Baddiel Are we allowed to not be OK with any of it? I am not OK with any kind of football hooliganism. I am not OK with the disproportionately violent response. I am not OK with Hamas or Hezbollah terrorists and I am not OK with Israel's disproportionately violent response.

A lot of people on here feeling the need to insist that the throwing into canals, attempted stabbings, head-stamping and hunting down of Jews this week in Amsterdam was provoked by the bad behaviour of Maccabi Tel-Aviv fans. Well, good to know that in this instance we’re ok with disproportionate retaliatory violence.

The answer to this rhetorical question by the Guardian's in-house cycling lobbyist is, in fact, "yes". Far too many cyclists in London of *all* kinds are indeed a street menace - lawless, thoughtless, selfish and antisocial. The article is just the latest exercise in denial.

Look I’ll be honest, I’m an employer & not overly happy at increase in NICs, but I know my employer allowance has risen to mitigate some of this. At the end of the day I want staff who can see a dr when they are ill & future employees taught in schools that aren’t crumbling.

Feel sorry for anyone who’s scrimped & saved. Given up stuff to prepare for their later years but particularly heartbroken for our amazing farmers today. Killing off independent farmers put more power in the hands of big conglomerates yet again. These people work so darn hard😔

According to the government, there is no money left. So maybe instead of spending £3bn a year to Ukraine, £22bn on carbon capture machines, £billions on net zero and numerous wealth transfer PFI contracts, the government should invest in improving communities and infrastructures.

@TfL Why aren't parking restrictions in operation on Holloway Road today? The buses can't use the bus lane as there are so many parked cars. Shouldn't there be additional restrictions on match days?

Really disgusted by this flippant remark by Trevor Philips "That's because you gave them a load of money, as Aneurin Bevan said at the start of the NHS, you stuff the doctors mouth with gold" Sorry, but Junior Doctors were striking for Pay Restoration because over the 14 years of Conservative government they had a third of their pay cut compared to 2010 salaries; and they still don't have full pay restoration today Trevor Philips knows this but he's chosen to ride the populist wave of demonising doctors - disgusting
