@LouStagner Not sure I said anything about protecting. Augusta is a fairly good example. They have bought all the land they can. Even par ish was a great achievement to win. Now 14 under when firm and 20 when soft. Heck give the MLB players a green Easton. MLB scores would be 30-28.

Rolling the ball back will actually INCREASE the importance of distance. I was in a group text with some friends. A few of them think distance is too important and want it to be less important. I told them that if you want to make distance less important, you'd make PGA Tour courses way SHORTER.

@LouStagner The nonsensical part of this argument is about bifurcation-there is literally nothing an amateur does that compares to what a pro does-in hockey everyone use the same puck-baseball, football and basketball the same ball. Make all pros use the same golf ball and then call me

Thank you for the insights. Since you brought it up, here’s a reminder of things I’ve had that others haven’t. See below. I also have been talking about the likely outcomes for weeks & everything that’s happened the last few days only validates my analysis. Hint LIV is dead crowd will be eating 🐦‍⬛
Pro Golf Critic@ProGolfCritic

So I had a few people wanting me to remind everyone some of the things I’ve been right about since @livgolf_league started in 2022. Non-public info, analysis, predictions, opinions. Let’s recap! ✅ #LIVGolf wasn’t going anywhere & would continue growing. ✅ @PGATOUR would reduce its footprint (events, cards). ✅ LIV would get exemptions into majors (decided April 2024) - NO ONE was talking about that (publicly) then. ✅ Rahm was going to LIV (Oct 2023). ✅ Meronk going to LIV (Nov 2023). ✅ Hatton going to LIV (Dec 2023). ✅ Tiger was starting a clothing brand with TaylorMade 3 months before announced. ✅ Equipment companies sponsoring LIV teams (PING, Callaway). ✅ Gooch to Smash in 2024. ✅ Wolff to Smash in 2023. ✅ Ludvig was being crowned too soon. ✅ LIV would expand to more players - 54 now (and eventually 60). ✅ Brooks would win a major in 2023. ✅ Bryson would win a major in 2024. ❌ Rahm would win a major in 2025. PPD. ✅ LIV deal with Fox. ✅ LIV deal with ITV. ✅ LIV playing night golf in Saudi in 2025. ✅ Ballester would go to LIV. ❓Finau would go to LIV. TBD. ✅ Phil would be vindicated on everything he was fighting for (obnoxious PGAT greed, etc). PGAT magically found $200m💰 ✅ Scottie would have a performance drop off end of 2024 into 2025. True - but he rebounded faster than I thought. 🤷🏽‍♂️ ❓LIV would get OWGR points. TBD. ❓5-6 PGAT players would go to LIV in 2025. Only 2 with partial status went but more are going in 2026 that should complete the count. Stay tuned. ✅ Rory moving to UK & leaving the @PGATOUR ❌ (so far) - but he played the bare minimum events in 2025 (15 events). Guess is less in 2026. Never once said he was going to LIV. There’s a bigger plan here.🔒TBD. ✅ PGAT/PIF meeting to try and consummate the deal a month before they met with Trump at the White House. Subsequently, the PGAT f’d that up. 🤷🏽‍♂️ ✅ PGAT had new leadership lined up in May 2025. Announced late June 2025. Running out of characters. Any others I’ve missed? Just off the top of my head. 😂 I’m generally a humble & modest person IRL (ask anyone that actually knows me) so I don’t talk sh*t that I can’t back up. Everything I say, opine, predict, etc has countless hours of analysis, conversations, discussions, etc. People can change their minds and info/data can change (as it has) but it doesn’t change the facts at the time. But if anyone on planet 🌎 has been saying all these things before they happen; pls, point them out to me because I’d like to congratulate them for knowing their sh*t. 😂

After being perhaps LIV Golf's biggest spokesman over the past few years Bryson DeChambeau did not speak to the media all week at LIV Virginia. He finished 3rd and was near the top of the leaderboard all weekend; but still nothing. This doesn't bode well for his future at LIV.

@Irish_On_Tour Certainly not a success when the money spent essentially burns your league to the ground within 5 years of starting. Rich people got richer, cool man.

@Irish_On_Tour Some people only see success as money. Sure, the PGA players got more, but that definitely doesn’t mean what LIV did was good. The only real thing it’s done is weed out the people who think they’re worth more than they are.

@BennyDTD He's not talking about LIV or LIV players. He's pointing out that PGA Tour players make more money now as well. LIV "achieved" that, but I don't think rich PGAT players indirectly getting richer is a "success" of theirs.

@BennyDTD Agree. Sick of hearing about how much money millionaires are making. I don't think it's a "success" that they're making more, but LIV did indirectly line the pockets of PGA Tour players as well.

Tom with actual words from Bryson DeChambeau on LIV Golf ⬇️ or you can get your “news” from the unnamed sources of the PGAT sponsored golf media 🤷‍♀️ “We’re still working on a potential contract…and I think there will be a solution.” - source ➡️ Bryson
Flushing It@flushingitgolf

Bryson DeChambeau has been the face of LIV Golf since joining in 2022. He regularly faces media and has been the most outspoken player in regard to how much he believes in the product. Now with reports that the PIF are cutting funding at the end of the 2026 season, how committed is he? Speaking to Flushing It Golf after LIV Golf Mexico City, Bryson said: “There's a lot of moving parts like in any business. It’s a startup, right? And so there's going to be times where we're squeezed and punched. This is one of those moments. But I'm going to do everything in my power to make it work and I really see the value in franchise golf. “And, you know, another reason why I'm doing this is not just for myself and the team aspect that I really believe in on the Crushers side. It's for Michael LaSasso. It's for Caleb Surratt. It's for Josele Ballester. It's for David Puig. “Jon, Phil, DJ, myself and the guys that have been here from the start, we’re okay. It’s now our responsibility to take care of these kids that believe in us. That’s why I'm really doing it. There's so much value to squeeze out of this whole thing for golf in general.” LIV Golf has been well funded since inception. Spending enormous amounts of money to sign players to upfront contracts, hosting lavish parties, having massive build outs and offering the largest event to event purses in the sport. But now the blank cheques are coming to an end, things clearly need to change. After reaching out directly to officials familiar with this aspect of the league, they insist they are focused on securing more income and funding, rather than cuts, and appear bullish with how that is trending. League sources say they’ve doubled revenue in 2025 from the previous year and have added more than $100 million already in the 2026 season through the first 5 events. 10 franchises will be profitable, as well as 4 events, and their ticket sales are up over 130% year over year. CEO Scott O’Neil said on last week’s broadcast, “we have never been in a better position.” If outside investment comes in, particularly to the franchises, as a byproduct it will help address the obvious issue of having one owner for all of the teams. The competitive aspect of the league has been flawed since the start, with more focus on building brands than the actual performances on the golf course. Results will suddenly matter more than they ever have. “I think that’s the best part of it,” Bryson said. “In my opinion, it’s not just some gimmick, it’s like, okay, we’re here to be competitive.” No matter how much the revenue increases, a sports league is not sustainable without star players. Bryson DeChambeau is the definition of that. With his current contract up at the end of this year, how are his negotiations going for a renewal? “We're still working on a potential contract. I haven’t given up on that and I think there will be a solution. But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year. I just feel like I have a responsibility. I've put a lot of effort into it. So that’s what I’m going to do, we’re going to make this work.” When asked what happens if they can’t make it work, he doubled down: “As long as LIV is here, I would figure out a way for it to make sense.” There’s been much speculation about Bryson DeChambeau’s future over the last few months, and now you have it from the man himself. Pay attention to those who widely shared “reports” of Bryson looking for options outside of LIV Golf but don’t aggregate these quotes. They are not trustworthy news sources. @brysondech @Crushers_GC @livgolf_league

@KylePorterNS I just have a hard time believing this. You can’t replace real competition reps. Breaking 50 with LeBron isn’t the same as going against Scottie at Hilton Head. Nice negotiation tactic but winning majors is his main goal and playing on the pgatour is the best way to get ready

The irony of this tweet, is the tour he criticises on the reg, is more accommodating to playing anywhere & whenever you like, than LIV is. Being contractually obliged doesn’t mean you’re choosing to play worldwide.
Luke Elvy@Luke_Elvy

Nope. I’ve always stated I’m for the Player & their right to play anywhere in the world whenever they like. They are the talent & deserve to make as much money as they can as Tour Golf is a brutal existence for all bar about the top 150-200 people.

LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil was just on the broadcast and spoke about upcoming structural changes. He mentioned LIV “probably” needing to raise money and also mentioned “blending LIV and the national opens.” Full transcript: Scott: “To tell you, given the momentum of this business, we're really excited about where we are and the position we are. This notion of secret meetings and getting summoned to New York, I live in New York. So it's easy to summon myself there. But there's a lot of reaching and grabbing for headlines and clickbait and stories. “For us, it's like we're business as usual, but if you want to ask me if this business is tough, I would say, absolutely. If you asked me if we were managed very, very tightly? I would say, absolutely. Can this be challenging? Absolutely. And that's what we signed up for not just me and you, everyone here that's with us down in Mexico City. We signed up for this adventure and it is the ride of a lifetime. Or should I say round of a lifetime?” Arlo: What is the future of the league as you see it? Scott: “How we go forward is what I'm really excited about. I talked about some structural changes. They're coming. You can ask just about the 50 people I met in Augusta. I rolled out the plan. We have one, and it might seem surprising to people, but I will tell you, like this notion of bringing teams to market, I had 2 calls this morning. “You know, this notion of, do you have to raise money? Probably. Like, this is business, but if we keep the trajectory going the way we are and the revenue growth going, this is going to be a really good business for a really long time. “And I have to ask you one thing. I love, I'm American. I love the US market. It's the number one TV market in the world, period, in a sense. The number one sponsorship market in the world, period, in a sense. In golf, in sport. “But long term. Do you want to bet on 340 million people or 7.5 billion people? That's all I'm saying. That's the only difference is I'm taking a 7.5 billion person bet. And that's something we should be excited about. Because golf should be seen around the world with some of the biggest stars in the game. And that's what we're doing.” Continues in thread. 1/4

@roosterpotamus @EPatGolf If they fold up shop like it’s being touted, then that would suggest they don’t have unlimited money, or didn’t think this project was worth funnelling more in to. Players got paid more, great, no one who watches gives a shit about that though.

@BennyDTD @EPatGolf They have unlimited money and there was no reason to believe LIV would be profitable. But that reinforces how good it's been for the players, which is a sentiment that you're not allowed to express in golf for some reason
