@J_master_caster Maine is lowkey cooking, the oval has definitely pushed south and we’re in a decent period of -bz with a flip coming soon, is this worth a watch?
@J_master_caster The data psyched me out earlier with that solid -5bz and high speed, and seeing what it did in England.
Friday night’s fog shenanigans really lit a fire in me, I’ve never been hungrier for the next Aurora after the pain of that miss
@Bermani22 I dehazed it a bit in Lightroom just to emphasize it! Unfortunately I think it’s about over though, some occasional flips will probably keep it visible at higher mid-latitudes but I doubt it’ll reach any further south unless we can get a more strongly -Bz.
@J_master_caster Oh wow not bad! Why does it look so much worse for me?
Do you think there’s any chance the oval expands meaningfully from here? Of course the storm is on its last legs when the northeast finally escapes cloud prison 😡
Wow! Surprisingly heavy snow showers/squalls through sunset
Rain in the valley, with this at 700'+
Did my best to measure with a piece of paper I put out about halfway through and was able to pick up a tenth of an inch
@BradyBGWX@Danbury_WX@BenWx_Official@AlexanderT52118
@BradyBGWX Looks like you have to go very high up to reach air substantially below freezing, if snow can fall it is going to be ridiculously sticky! Good luck nonetheless!
I suppose if you get the cold to time perfectly with the end of the convection moving through there is a chance that in the morning you get a bit of accumulation with it still before sun getting going and potentially hefty rates…
That’s if though…
In that case I’d say the 1-4 range maybe? And then some additional in the PM.
Conditional though…
But would have an impact on the AM commute absolutely and could cause some delays.
All this rain prior though may make stickage tough at first so if you’re not absolutely ripping then just a light-moderate snow above freezing may not stick much.
We’ll see though…
My 17th night in Utah.
This time was special as my precious friend was with me. I truly appreciate it.
Unfortunately we missed the substorm tonight, but we will catch one next time!
BTW, there is a heart-breaking story on the second photo💔
When the substorm finally hit, I was clear expect for a thin surface fog. I could literally see stars above my head but not ten feet in front of me.
A devastating blow, and a reminder of all the things that can go wrong in this hobby. @J_master_caster@haozhou332022@MShil716
I came within feet, literally, of Aurora tonight.
During the first substorm, it was raining. I then stayed up, patiently watching the next substorm build all night.
4 massive deer just said Hello in my yard.
They stood still long enough for me to catch them on the run(camera shy I guess because they ran when I pulled my phone out).
I got a photo of the front 2 while they were staring at me
Looks like we are in for a "Double Whammy" EPAM data suggesting another CME arrival, put on your seatbelt people we are in for an aurora borealis northern lights show!
