Kirk Cousins didn’t cost the Raiders a draft pick, Carr would, not to mention the Falcons are paying the majority of his 2026 salary, Raiders would be on the hook for all of Carr’s $$ - so for those reasons and many more, they may appear similar but they are very different

Everyone wants Mendoza starting Week 1, but with Cousins as the bridge QB, he's the perfect mentor for Fernando. It's all about setting Fernando up for his moment and not rushing him, and I am totally on board with that. #RaiderNation

Bob Myers is one of the most overrated GMs of all time in my book. -Drafted Draymond? No, that was Schlenk's work -Traded for Iguodala? No, Iguodala wanted to go to GS because of what Jackson built and the influence of Jerry West -Traded Monta for Bogut? Actually, they nearly traded Curry - Bucks turned it down due to Curry's ankle issues -Signed KD? Everyone knows it was the players who did the convincing After this period, Myers' work is pure clown stuff. 2016: Damion Jones 2018: Jacob Evans 2019: Paschall/Poole (Dunleavy's idea) 2020: Wiseman 2021: Kuminga/Moody 2022: Gui Santos (on Barbosa's advice) What is it that Myers himself did other than be absolutely horrible with draft picks (so clueless, he had to rely on Draymond's awful advice), ride the success created by others, believe KD was better than Curry and drafted like it, and wouldn't convince Lacob to draft for the now with a prime Curry after winning a title he didn't even see coming. Myers was a fraud.

Please don’t confuse this with arm power (which is good in itself) — Fernando Mendoza truly has upper-echelon arm talent. This is a guy who has the ability to make any throw in any situation, and he only keeps proving that true. Underrated zip, elite touch. Doesn’t need to step into throws to loft them up (with great accuracy). Mastered the back-shoulder hookup. Gets balls out quick. Gets off on-target passes with his arm moving unconventionally. Sensational outside the numbers. And makes it all look easy; like he isn’t doing anything difficult at all. And I think that last sentence is the exact reason why Mendoza’s arm talent has gone so unsung throughout this entire draft process—he just makes it all look so easy, like you aren’t actually watching anything abnormal. One thing I don’t like to do is go out of my way to say anything all too negative about any player, past or present. Especially when those things don’t need to be said. But I have to say this right here: Fernando is special enough by himself, but to watch him under center every Sunday immediately following the likes of Garoppolo, Hoyer, O’Connell, Stidham, Minshew, Smith and others.. forget about it. There are Raiders fans out there who have never seen anything close to what they’re about to witness.
