Regarding the First Lady’s condemnation of Kimmel’s latest incitement, think what it must be like to have total strangers wishing you and your family dead. Trump can be a rude provocateur. Kimmel is a sadist masquerading as a comedian.

This is another example showing how Barack Obama is one of the most divisive figures in American politics today. So many of our divisions were caused by the smug, demeaning and narrow-minded way he treats his opponents. Here, he pretends to not know the truth about the would-be assassin, although the facts of his left wing views were public hours before Obama’s tweet. It’s classic Obama - pretend to be conciliatory while he is the one who creates the divide. You would hope that Obama would condemn the left after the left tries to kill a President. But that’s too much to ask. Once again, Obama proves himself to be a classless divider of our country.

@cabsav456 Marc Thiessen was what finally caused me to cancel my WP subscription. I’m not a progressive at all but it was - like a bad drug - just bad for my health to read his unctuous, unrealistic opinions.

@somethingldsay @cabsav456 Republicans should at least try. It might smoke out open border Democratic opponents to oppose it and hurt their upcoming election or re-election chances.

@cabsav456 "...but none of them are prioritizing reform. Why is that?" Cynically: Immigration issues are a useful re-election tool. Gives them something to campaign on. Realistically: Getting something like that passed would be a HUGE effort.

If you're one of the people who thinks Biden was horrible on immigration (🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️), you should be pushing for immigration reform. Why? Because the immigration law we currently have was written back in 1996 and is completely outdated. The truth is, ever since Obama, presidents have been implementing their own version of immigration policy — either a looser or stricter interpretation of that 1996 law — entirely by Executive Order. Contrary to popular belief, Biden didn't break any LAWS; he just undid all of Trump 1.0's EOs and had a looser interpretation & expanded programs that are already written into the code, like TPS & asylum. He also stopped construction on the wall. It would be great if the current Republican majority in Congress had even the slightest interest in actually reforming our outdated immigration law, but none of them are prioritizing reform. Why is that?

Saying that Trump is bad President who routinely deploys violent rhetoric and is a unique threat to liberal Democracy are appropriate and true statements. We should be full-throated in our condemnation of political violence and violent rhetoric. But we should continue to tell the truth about Trump.
