There is something very twisted about the thinking of a priest who will give communion to a non Catholic or a Catholic who he knows is not in a state of grace, but withholds it from a normal shriven Catholic who wants to receive it kneeling.

I've been slogging through this turgid document and its many references to "process/es" (37x). It does manage to keep the word count down by not talking much, if at all, about Jesus Christ, evangelization, and such (to be fair, there is one mention of "proclaiming the Gospel"). It's about "journey" (35x), "share/sharing" (30x), "implementing" (19x), and such. At times, and in long stretches, it reads like a corporate handbook. But, of course, most corporations have some sense of what they are trying to accomplish. The synodal documents continue to impress with their remarkable level of empty wonkiness, stale word salads, repetitive vapidity, and almost desperate need for control. But perhaps I'm not open enough to the "spirit" of Synodality. After all, if this sort of verbiage doesn't get you pumped up for the synodal process, you're probably a hater: "An evaluation (assessment) Assembly is a spiritual process and a celebratory moment in which the threads of a communal journey of growth in synodality are drawn together. Synodality is an essential dimension of the life of the Church, rooted in communion and ordered to mission. For this reason, the aim of the assessment process is the growth of the whole People of God in relationships and in fidelity to the Church’s mission in the world, with particular attention to the participation of women, young people, the poor, and those who live on the margins of our communities."

The Miraculous Medal is a small oval sacramental that originated from a series of apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris in 1830. A young novice with the Daughters of Charity, Catherine experienced several visions in the convent chapel on Rue du Bac. The most significant occurred on November 27, when Mary appeared standing upon a globe with rays of light streaming from her hands, crushing a serpent beneath her feet. An inscription encircled the image: O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Mary instructed Catherine to have a medal struck according to this model, promising that those who wore it with confidence would receive great graces. On the reverse side the design features a large M surmounted by a cross, with the Sacred Heart of Jesus crowned with thorns and the Immaculate Heart of Mary pierced by a sword, surrounded by twelve stars representing the apostles. The first medals were produced in 1832 amid a cholera epidemic in Paris, and reports of healings, conversions, and protections spread rapidly. What began as the Medal of the Immaculate Conception soon earned the name Miraculous Medal because of the extraordinary favors associated with it. A Church inquiry in 1836 affirmed its supernatural character, and devotion spread worldwide. Far more than jewelry or a charm, the medal serves as a visible sign of trust in Mary's intercession and a reminder of the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, which would later be defined as dogma in 1854. Worn around the neck or carried with faith, it invites the wearer to prayer and reliance on God's mercy through the Mother of Christ. Millions have embraced it across cultures and centuries, finding in its simple form both comfort in trial and encouragement in daily life. Its enduring power lies not in the medal itself, but the awakening in the wearer to follow Mary's admonition to "Do whatever He (my Son) tells you." (Jn 2:5)

The question is: Are the changes of Vatican II accidental (the Council was good but there was an abuse of practice) or substantial (the Council sought to intentionally alter the Catholic religion). We argue the changes were substantial. The Holy Catholic Church will always be endowed with her Four Marks. Were any of the Marks to disappear, the Church would suffer a substantial change and would not be the Church of Christ. The crisis of today is that the present day hierarchy lacks the power to rule the Church, but the Church remains visible materially. The hierarchy of today lack: • Unity [public profession of the one same Faith] • Holiness [on the contrary, it is a cesspool of degeneracy, blasphemy, and sin] • Catholicity [the faith preached under this one hierarchy substantially changes depending on which church you hear mass with.] • Apostolicity [while they possess legitimate succession materially, they do not profess the one same Faith as the apostles, but the Vatican II religion]

@Bernard_BBP I appreciate Martin's work, very much, but we have to leave behind the idea that it's all about the Mass. The Vatican has embraced an entirely new religion, with doctrines & dogmas opposed to those of the religion founded by Christ.

The decision was made by Leo XIV in full knowledge of what would happen next. If there is a schism, it is laid directly at the feet of this pope. The simple fact is that the SSPX represents a religion the Romans no longer hold.
Patrick @ Creative Minority@CMReport

The Pope needs to grant permission for the consecration to the SSPX. Withholding it is unnecessary, a crime, and provocation. They are Catholic and this farce must stop. All anger should be directed at the Holy See for creating this situation!

Ta ljubezen do duš je temeljno vprašanje v trajajočem sporu z Rimom. Duše v stiski imajo pravico do svoje duhovne dediščine – "legitimne navezanosti", kot pravijo besede Janeza Pavla II. – v latinski cerkvi.

Many people are unaware that the stars on the EU flag are the twelve stars that crown the Blessed Virgin Mary, alluded to in Revelation 12:1. I learned this by chance when I was working for an EU institution. Every Wednesday there was a Mass held in an office. It was, frankly, an awful Mass; so bad that I once complained about the use of earthenware vessels. Most of the faithful attending it were close to retirement age, except the youthful forty-year-old with a guitar who, in place of the Agnus, would give a rousing chorus of Hevenu Shalom Alechem. I attended because it was at least some vestige of Catholicism surviving in the faithless sea of EU Institutions. But I stopped when, days after the election of Pope Benedict, the Dominican priest preached against the new Pope. Anyhow, one day a colleague who was unable to attend that day gave me a very heavy bag full of documents and asked me to pass it to one of the people who attended the Mass. I did not know him but I found him after the Mass and handed it over. "Excellent!" He said. "These are the documents relating to the history of the EU Flag." So I, who have never been famous for my diplomatic skills, asked him how it was possible to write so much about such an uninteresting flag. He drew himself up and said with injured dignity "It is not an uninteresting flag. I was on the Committee that designed it!" And then he explained that it was indeed Our Lady's diadem.

I've said for a long time that bishops lie about the amount of clergy-abuse scandals because they think they're saving the faith of the laity. Turns out—it's worse than that. Yesterday, InfoVaticana dropped an audio recording of one bishop saying to another: "We have to try to protect the Church first." (Translation: "We have to protect ourselves when it comes to these scandals.") No surprise the guy who said it works for Touchy-Touchy Fernandez. infovaticana.com/en/2026/05/19/…
