The impact of the war on Palestinian women, from a medical point of view. War condition is very bad to women particularly pregnant women Explosions leds to sever harm to the mother and fetus sever shacking , Multiple trauma and falling down leads to miscarriage , preterm labor , placental separation and fetal death Water deprivation is catastrophe for pregnant women who need good hydration This leads to uti , pyelonephritis ( kidney inflammation) and renal shut down because pregnant women are more liable to these conditions Dehydration also may lead to thrombosis and embolism There's no access to clean or adequate water Food deprivation can leads to many complications as anemia and decrease maternal and fetal weight Sever starvation may affect mental and intellectual functions of the child later on Diabetic women suffer more due to lack of insulin due to lack of medicine and no electricity Insulin need refrigerator and cannot be kept in room temperature Lack of insulin leads to many many complications like birth defects , fetal death , kidney and eye complications Delivery in war is very bad experience Lack of antiseptic solutions, antibiotics predispose women to infection and puerperal sepsis which is really really bad Lack of anesthesia and analgesia make labor very painful and sad . There's serious problem affect all pregnant women It is very different to receive medical care No soft suitable roads .... No available medical personnel.. sever pressure on hospitals ...and after threats to explode hospitals many women refuse to seek medical care Delivery in this circumstances expose mothers to post partum depression Even in a war ... Women remain women.... most of them have menses and need pads !! I saw a video of girls and women using hormonal contraception to stop menstruation Receiving those medications without medical counseling leads to serious complications like stroke I appeal to all women's rights organizations in the world, save the women of Palestine from this brutal occupation. @UN_Women @UNHumanRights @hrw @AmnestyAR
