NYC saw a significant reduction in water usage throughout the five boroughs during the Super Bowl’s #BadBunny halftime show yesterday, but in the 15 minutes right after the show ended, there was a spike in usage equivalent to 761,719 toilets flushing across town.#SBLX

Keeping NYers safe means keeping them dry! Alongside @nycsmallbiz, @ChrisMarteNYC, and @DowntownNYC, we spoke with small businesses in #Manhattan last night about preparing for the next big storm AND provided them with free flood kits to help get the job done!

Today we teamed up with @NYC_SBS, @bedstuygateway, and @CMChiOsse to distribute DEP flood kits to small businesses in Bedford-Stuyvesant impacted by yesterday’s record-setting rainfall.

NYC's sewer system was built to handle 1.75"/hour but yesterday's storm brought the equivalent of 6"/hour in some areas. @NYC311 received 800+ flooding calls. Our crews worked overnight to respond and are continuing today. Report clogged catch basins here: on.nyc.gov/2XM4jEU
