It is time to open a path towards de-escalation in order to restore stability in the Middle East. France calls for the immediate implementation of a moratorium on strikes targeting civilian infrastructure, whether related to water or to energy. Freedom and security of navigation must be restored. As the region enters a period of religious celebrations and renewal, tempers must cool and hostilities must cease, in order to give a real chance to the prospect of a negotiated and sustainable solution.

If you think British politics are screwed-up you should try explaining to non-Brits that Starmer may resign because of Epstein, though he never even met Epstein. Then try explaining why he’s regarded a failure as a PM despite not having caused any major scandal or crisis.

As arts and then trade minister in Keir Starmer’s government I/we have been able to get a better deal for musicians; start an arena ticket levy for small music venues; secure a new trade deal with Korea. There is so much more to do. We should get on with it & end the psychodrama

Keir has earned the right to deliver the change he has promised and do what he cares about - which is to serve the country. This is not the time for the government to turn inwards on itself. We must focus on delivering the change we promised the country.
