These position players could probably throw 80+, but straight as an arrow. MLB hitters would hit that better than the lobs, in my opinion.

This is exactly the point. ABS is not the strike zone. The box on the screen is not the strike zone. This is a major issue. Openly flawed. It is not umpire incompetence at any point.

If the box never appeared on your TV, this would NEVER be a discussion. Also, the box doesn’t match the MLB rule book zone.

@_nateschwartz They definitely need to work on this rule, but the pitch clock wasn’t perfect at first and now it’s just part of the game, in my opinion. I also think that umps are being humiliated in front of 40,000 people for .01 inches and they are pissed.
