We're so grateful to all the MPs who signed this letter to call on the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to commit to lowering the #BowelCancer screening sensitivity threshold. Bowel cancer screening helps spot the disease before symptoms start, when it's more treatable. By improving the sensitivity threshold thousands of lives could be saved.

The latest report from @bowelcanceruk shows that progress on early diagnosis of the disease has stagnated. That's why I, alongside other MPs, have sent a letter to the Secretary of State for Health, asking him to commit to optimising the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.

Versus doing intramesenteric dissection can later in life result in fistulazation, anastomotic stricturing that patients are asked to self dilate ( IMO daily agony ) and patients get labeled as Crohn’s disease where symptoms times can be similar. Leaving the meso not only smoulders active infection but also triggers inflammatory response where pouch and meso starts mimicking “Crohn’s like “ features and behaviour. @NorthwellHealth

It is critical to do the proctectomy, Total or near mesorectal excision to avoid squishing mesenteric impact that causes obstruction on the #IPAA /pouch @NorthwellHealth
