@timjdeasy Type of honey fungus I think Tim. Can you eat them - yes, though if I am wrong with identification you may die, so I’d avoid it unless you get an experts opinion!!

@stucrow @ijsimo25 @tomhfh SoS was found to be wrong. Hence why decision was quashed. Perhaps you should read the planning inspectorates recommendations report which recommended approval.

@ijsimo25 @tomhfh If you have a read of the Sos's refusal letter and the evidence submitted to the PI Examination, it's fairly obvious why Portsmouth is a stupid place to put the Aquind cable. Run it up Hayling, bring it ashore at Selsey, put it in Dorset like the SoS suggested

@gregallenRTE Some aspects are good but too easy to manipulate for individual golfers and also for certain clubs whose golfers are generally 3/4 shots higher than should be. Almost impossible for lower hcaps to win anything any more. The high hcappers even winning all the stroke comps now.

After the recent R&A detailed survey on the World Handicap System I’m curious about UK &. Irish experiences of WHS after almost 4 full seasons. It was said WHS would ‘settle’ after two years. Interested to know if those with experience of it, have a view or does it matter to you?

@ag_feachaint_ @NewstalkFM For construction, yes, most of the workforce will be contractors from further afield. But for operation, most power stations have the majority of their workforce from the local area and make sure they are trained up for the job.

Would you support the Irish Government building a nuclear reactor in your area to combat climate change? #Echobox=1718090148" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">newstalk.com/news/call-for-…

@RobNecronomicon @NewstalkFM You’ve forgot a few things. Nuclear reactors are incredibly complex to build. Ireland doesn’t have a nuclear regulatory body capable to regulating a new nuclear industry. And nuclear is very expensive. Solar, wind and battery/hydro pumped storage would be a better solution imo

@NewstalkFM Anyone with a brain has been saying nuclear is the only way to go for decades. The latest generation of nuclear reactors are safe and highly efficient. Renewables were never going to cut it. And when we finally get nuclear 'fusion' off the ground that will be the game changer.

@NewstalkFM Besides from the points that I had listed yesterday there is one more, you basically boil water to run a turbine and now guess where the steam will go and what it will become in an already heated atmosphere?! You want more rain? Go right ahead!

@Casey5122dark @NewstalkFM Abundant, yes. Clean, yes. Reliable, yes. Cheap, no. I don’t think Ireland needs a nuclear reactor. Focus on wind, solar, battery and additional pumped storage first. A much more deliverable solution.

@NewstalkFM I would support building nuclear reactors to provide cheap and abundant energy.

@chrisbriem Probably not to be fair: In context I think it was advertised as the biggest flywheel of it's type (I.e synchronous condensor).

In 2022, short on electrical grid inertia and long on renewable power, Ireland installed the world's largest flywheel, 130 spinning tons. Why did we do something so preposterous? And are there other, better storage technologies? Let's find out. It's the grid storage thread!

@HugoGordon1 Christian Cullen came to Munster at 27 years of age and did very little in 4 years, mainly because of injury but his behaviour off the field wasn’t the best either. Only played 40 odd times over 4 years. Synman had been great when available but not a good signing for the €€€

On an exposed coastal hillside in West Clare, amongst the heather and the fionán, hundreds of stunted oak trees, some possibly quite old.

@SamLStandsUp Reminds me of when Matt Banahan was played at centre in 2010. Easy to defend against and starved the wingers of ball. Made the England attack very predictable.

Let's assume this is serious and give it the data treatment. Idea is that you should get your best carriers into a position to make the most carries. We all agree with that I'd think? First problem is if Earl made the most carries on Saturday surely he did it from 8 anyway? 1)
