For me, Moises Caicedo is not enough from a physical standpoint. We are too lightweight. Even Pep, who loves technical players, is buying Semenyo, who can't control the ball. It shows you where the Premier League is heading.
Look at the top teams on height/physicality:
Arsenal: Rice, Gabriel, Saliba, Calafiori, Havertz, Merino, Hincapie.
City: Rodri, Dias, Semenyo, Haaland, O'Reilly, Doku (not tall but very physical).
Liverpool: van Dijk, Kanote, Gravenberch, Jones, Szoboszlai, Isak, Ekitike, Gakpo.
Aston Villa: Konsa, Mings, Onana, Torres, Rogers, Abraham.
Chelsea: Caicedo, James and Colwill. Then who else?
I think the club is right to prioritise height and physicality. We lack that. Barco can come in but he can only play Enzo role and LB. Can't use him in the pivot.
PSG midfield people are using as example has Neves who is a physical monster despite lack of height but they use Ruiz or Zaire-Emery to balance that.

What worries me about Clearlake is that they don’t seem to understand their own timeline.
From 2022-2024, I was fine with just throwing kids into the starting XI and letting them develop through trial by fire. We stripped the club down, had to restart from scratch, etc. You may disagree, but their logic at least makes sense.
But now, we’re on a different timeline. The club has been ready to take the next step for 1.5 seasons now, and Clearlake refuse to do. Case in point, they want to pair a young Penders with Palmer, Cucurella, Caicedo, and Enzo, etc.
A club interested in winning doesn’t operate this way.

Morgan Rogers is in a similar position that Joao Pedro was at last season. Remember Joao Pedro had only 5 non penalty goals last season & people who can’t analyse player strengths said he’s just a penalty merchant. Forward now and only Haaland has more non penalty goals in the league. When players move to à more competitive environment & play with quality players it brings out the best in the them. Rogers quality is undeniable.

This is a connector type from midfield to attack, not a CAM, not a DM. So if he's to learn anything from anyonez it's Enzo. If you properly want to transition from Enzo later not this summer. They are not exactly the same but It would be helpful for him to learn from Enzo

I’ve never looked at Van Hecke like a top of the range CB. But I understand potential interest because he’s prime age and can pair with both Colwill or Fofana. — Can replace Colwill’s build-up influence next to Fofana — Can be aggressive + carry, next to Colwill Also he’s definitely a natural leader, prime-age & has the right kind of personality we would want. It’s a fair move if you’re doubling down on Colwill x Fofana as your starting pairing. Good “3rd man” to rotate with both.
