تاریخی تناظر میں یہ دعویٰ کہ کابل کبھی لاہور کے زیرِ انتظام رہا ہے، حقائق کے سراسر برعکس ہے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ مغل ہندوستان میں کابل سے آئے تھے اور وہ پنجاب یا لاہور کے مقامی باشندے نہیں تھے۔ مغلیہ سلطنت کے بانی ظہیر الدین بابر نے 1504ء میں کابل کو فتح کر کے اپنا تخت بنایا اور اس کے 22 سال بعد 1526ء میں وہاں سے ہندوستان پر حملہ آور ہو کر دہلی اور پنجاب کو اپنی قلمرو میں شامل کیا۔ اس لحاظ سے ابتدائی طور پر لاہور کابل کی سلطنت کا حصہ بنا تھا، نہ کہ کابل لاہور کا۔ مغلوں کا اصل تعلق وسطی ایشیا فرغانہ سے تھا اور وہ نسلاً تیموری تھے، جنہوں نے کابل کو اپنی سلطنت کا اسٹریٹجک مرکز اور سلطنت کا دروازہ قرار دیا تھا۔ اکبر اعظم کے دور میں جب سلطنت کو مختلف صوبوں میں تقسیم کیا گیا، تب بھی کابل اور لاہور دو الگ الگ انتظامی اکائیاں صوبے تھے اور دونوں کے گورنر (ناظم) جداگانہ خدمات سرانجام دیتے تھے۔ مغلوں کے زوال کے بعد، احمد شاہ ابدالی کے دور میں 1747ء سے 1801ء تک پنجاب خود کابل کے زیرِ اثر رہا، جبکہ بعد ازاں رنجیت سنگھ کے دورِ حکومت میں سکھ سلطنت پشاور تک تو پھیلی لیکن کابل کبھی ان کے قبضے یا پنجاب کی حدود میں شامل نہ ہو سکا۔ لہٰذا، کابل کو پنجاب کا حصہ قرار دینا تاریخی طور پر ایک غلط بیانیہ ہے، کیونکہ یہ دونوں خطے ہمیشہ اپنی جداگانہ شناخت اور آزاد انتظامی ڈھانچہ رکھتے آئے ہیں۔

Pakistan has killed more Muslims in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kashmir, Afghanistan and even in Jordan that India could ever dream of. Anyone who keeps bringing India in this conversation is basically parroting Pakistani military talking points.
