@jlg_sunshine That wasn’t a spending bill. It was a Republican bill that raised the debt limit but it included my provision to cut spending 1% if Congress went a full year on a continuing resolution. Congress did in fact go a full year on a CR, but Mike Johnson became speaker and reneged on it

The President’s Big Beautiful Bill, the Iran War, and Republican spending bills will create a $2 trillion budget DEFICIT in 2026. Financing just the new debt costs more than all federal road & bridge projects, and we will be making those new interest payments each year, forever.

Check out this incredible 3D trajectory of the parachuted sensor as it completed three revolutions around the #tornado, with widet circumference with height. The sensor then sampled the “vent” at the upper reaches of the dynamic pipe. It reached velocities of at least 140 mph. This is a historic accomplishment in science and engineering by @WillClay25

I hate coming off as a sour grape, I’ve always been a proponent of freedom to chase, but honestly we need to ask our selfs, are we at the breaking point as a group of people? I’ve always prided myself as a first responder first and foremost. The last 3 days has the mouse in my head turning the wheel, is it time to figure out a way for LEO/Fire to differentiate those of us who are experienced and here for good? Idk, I’ve been kicking some ideas around in my head, one of those is making an association of some sort. We have been working on the idea for a while (summit staff) it’s became a public safety hazard on some days, maybe we need to fix this from within before another legislative body attempts to takes it from us again.

Both are true. This guy should be fired for punching a citizens window and blocking the road was illegal AND from a public safety standpoint, we were absolutely the most dangerous hazard in Kansas. The thousands of erratically driving vehicles hindered emergency response and put local citizens in danger from illegal speeding/passing.

Folks, yesterday on stream we witnessed a firefighter bragging on the radio about how proud he was for knocking someone’s mirror off their car, on purpose. That’s unacceptable. It doesn’t matter what someone says to you or how pissed they make you, you can’t go damaging vehicles. The fire department reached out and said, basically: You’re right, this is ridiculous, it’s being taken care of, and it surely won’t possibly happen again. Then, this morning, Chief Woodyard, who apparently has a lot of wood in his yard, decided to try to trash me. Apparently he didn’t get the memo from the fire department that this is unacceptable behavior. His claim of what was said on the radio is also only partial. There was back and forth on their ground channel referencing “well they deserved it.” It’s just not how you do things in public safety. Again, the fire department flat out said, not verbatim, “this is ridiculous, we’re so sorry it’s being taken care of we assure you” I back the blue, but not this blue. Chief Woodyard also does not want to speak on the phone, apparently. I don’t know how you guys do it in that county, but anywhere else I go around this Country public safety is held to a higher standard. When you’re called upon to answer to someone’s worst day, you have to be the bigger person. At least on duty. I’ve been hit, punched, kicked, and worse by people but I still had to remain professional, to an extent at least. If it’s ok to go damaging people’s cars because they pissed you off, then that means I can go damage someone’s car who pissed me off, right, or is that only what the town of Blue Rapids can do? I would encourage you all to be careful who you support and vote for. This behavior is typical from city employees at times. I rarely ever see a Sheriff pull this crap, mainly because they’re elected and serve the people. **Also, their little road closure was blown around by chasers because it put them in danger. The tornado could have reformed a bit south and taken them all out. Perhaps don’t attempt to close an escape route road when you don’t understand meteorology.** Regardless, I hope everyone has a great day and enjoy the comments.
