@Sloshwell @DelusionPosting So it’s not banned. They just don’t want 9 year olds reading about mature themes? This is like saying Eminem is banned because his records can’t be sold to 10 year olds.

@DelusionPosting PEN America's October 2025 report verifies the claim, documenting 206 instances of King's titles removed from school libraries, primarily for mature themes like violence and sexuality, outpacing other authors.

@TheChaosWeeber Inflation from 2015-2025 was 28%. Housing prices during that same time is up 99%. Is 4 times the rate of inflation effective the same in your books? My dictionary might be outdated.

Considering house prices are going down and inflation adjusted are effectively the same price as 10 years ago, seems the Liberals were the right choice…..

Voting by mail is illegal because you have to buy a stamp every time you do it. That's a poll tax.

@DelusionPosting I kind of like this. Its obviously retarded but it opens the possibility of me saying the same shit for capitalism. Anyone poor in capitalism is poor because they are lazy not because of the system. Seriously thoo how fucking brainwash do you have to be to agree to any of this

@RequiemPog @BTCBreadMan Why would you have separate fun money. I couldn’t imagine going up to my wife and saying let’s go on a trip in February to get some sun, she says she doesn’t have enough money. I say adios and head down to the beach solo. It’s just a crazy way to live. That’s roommates

Get your Dave Ramsay ass advice out of here. In all seriousness though I think a joint bank account is useful. My wife and I have one to pay all the bills but we have separate checking account we split our fun money to. And I have a savings account for when I want to buy bigger dumb purchases like guns or computer parts.

My best friend is 36 years old. He’s been married for 7 years, but they still don’t have a joint bank account. He and his wife literally Venmo each other for half a meal out, or half of the gas bill. How do I kindly explain to him that they are acting like unserious children?

@SamTheCynic @culturalcritic3 @HazelAppleyard You you rather pay 10$ for lunch. Or 100$ for the exact same lunch. Most men have figured out if your woman is stupid enough to demand an identical lunch that costs 10 times the price they aren’t going to be a rational partner for the rest of their lives.

@culturalcritic3 @HazelAppleyard everyone seems on the natural diamond hate train rn and men are rushing to reddit to villainize their partners for wanting a natural diamond engagement ring… weird to me. if she’ll wear it for life, she should choose what stone it is. he should just admit he can't afford it.

I once had to reassure a (very broke) man that I adored that a £50 ring was absolutely fine and that I wanted to marry him more than I wanted an expensive ring. Sure enough he proposed with said ring, I adored it, I showed it off to everyone, and it did not matter one bit how much it cost. This relationship didn’t work out for other external reasons but at least it wasn’t because I would accept nothing less than a mined 3ct ring. He should run.

What if inflation this year is closer to 10% than 2%? How will the Fed react to a "surprise" surge in inflation? If the Fed does the right thing and raises the Fed funds rate by several hundred basis points and resumes QT, the result will be a financial crisis worse than 2008.

@Brian_Shuster @PeterSchiff If business could automate currently to be cheaper than labour abroad they would already be doing it. Companies will change things to save Pennies per unit. Why would this already not be happening?

@poetic_pet @gmforbes35 They could do the same thing right now. Companies back then paid a lower effective rate than they pay today. It would be a reduction in government funding.

@wil_da_beast630 How did you derive that number? Does it for with archeological evidence? Don’t disagree with you, just read claims that North American Indian population peaked at 100 million in 1500 AD. They claimed evidence of large settlements etc.

@gmforbes35 Go back to 1970's tax levels for businesses and wealthiest individuals. Before that fucking trickle-down shit. You don't know what that means if you weren't there back then.

@gmforbes35 Then you're going to complain about an increasing deficit... Cutting taxes NEVER work to help reduce government deficits, because trickle-down economics doesn't work. BUT increasing taxes on the wealthiest corporations and individuals do. Then give a break to middle-class.
