@HeidiBriones I believe that "scarcity mindset" is the root cause of this issue. Our lizard brains are always fighting to the death for resources.

People who are not skilled in certain areas often struggle to fathom true excellence in those same areas. Instead of recognizing their own limitations, they criticize others or accuse them of cheating.

According to Statista, 83 million jobs are expected to be lost globally in the next five years due to AI-driven automation. Both Democrats and Republicans need to realize that they need to change some views. Democrats need to protect AI from Unions. Republicans need to realize that some form of UBI will be needed. McKinsey estimates that AI can already automate 70% of workforce tasks, and unemployment in Europe and the U.S. alone could rise by 12 million jobs as a result. I think these numbers are underestimating the effects of AI. The U.S. government needs to act to address this impending potential crisis. Without intervention, millions of Americans could face unemployment, financial insecurity, and economic instability. The answer isn’t to limit AI. It’s to tax those benefitting the most from it.

If you are upset that legal immigrants are taking American jobs, wait until you hear about what AI and automation will do. The ultimate solution is to help these corporations make as much money as they can but raise taxes on them and transfer that wealth to the workers who will continue to lose jobs. In the end, you either outlaw automation or you distribute the wealth made from it. The former is just stupid. The latter keeps America thriving.

@chrismwojcik Volume and intensity management is really important. Taking time off even if you aren’t injured is advice that I offer that raises eyebrows. 28 years on the mat and I’ll be 58 in a month. I’m still here.

I see this so much in the Jiu-Jitsu community and it is one of the most insufferable parts of the sport/community.

There's something tragic about people who make "working hard" their identity. It's an exhausting and unsustainable image to maintain. You don't want your sense of self to be tied to your ability to "grind". There's a better way. The irony is that you have to work to find it.

@AndrewYang A person can achieve a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and do well on a standardized test. Each are an achievement on their own. Together they can show an uncommon level of commitment.

A culture can - and should - value different modes of achievement.

@AndrewYang Some people scoff at the comment “diversity is our strength”. I believe it’s the secret sauce that makes us unique.

My father came here as an immigrant getting a degree in physics. He then produced 69 US patents for GE and IBM. He also had two sons who love this country and work hard to make it a little bit better for our own children. ⬆️🇺🇸
