I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Misericordia University! I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for helping me get to where I am today. I also want to thank the West Chester Dragon organization for tremendously helping me during the recruiting process. Lastly, I want to thank Coach Egbert and the rest of the Misericordia coaching staff for giving me this opportunity! @Misericordia_BB #ALL9 #RollCougs

Stop Using Reverse Throws! STOP: - Throwing backwards. - Throwing as fast as possible backwards. - Throwing as fast as possible backwards without legs. - Throwing back as fast as possible with weak forearms and super strong external rotator cuff muscles. Your arm is the catapult, the UCL of your elbow is the hinge. Your forearm muscles are the springs protecting the hinge and they are getting weakened by the throw. Reverse throws are accelerating layback, promoting reversed shoulder imbalances (external rotator cuff strength outpacing internal rotator cuff) and the deceleration comes from how much counter-rotation an athlete has in their spine in a half-kneeling position, the most stable position in throwing you can make the body, and therefore, your forearm is the only thing that can truly decelerate reverse elbow extension. Are you catching our drift? The greatest torques on our elbow that have been confirmed in science occur almost at the point of maximum layback where the muscles are trying to compress the elbow to not put extra load on the UCL ligament. If you are really unimpressed with science or the current rate of TJ surgery and want to continue to throw reverse throws - you 100% have to test your arm strength. We do not support reverse throws, but if you must.... If the shoulder is imbalanced, stop and fix it. If the forearm is weak, stop and fix it. If you are imbalanced and have a weak forearm and don't know about it, you are rolling the dice continuing to use reverse throws. There are more effective & safer drills/exercises to strengthen the posterior cuff. Example- weighted ball holds. @tomhouse @DeanDoxakisNPA @NPA_Pitching

I see it way too often when a kid I work with starts back with his school’s team and they start lifting heavy. Velo drops and pain increases. Not at first, but eventually it does. Power strength < functional strength for rotational athletes. @NPA_Pitching

Change my mind: Weighted Ball Holds Don't Suck Weighted ball holds have been criticized because they lack the mechanics of a true throwing motion, however we've found that holds are a great way to build shoulder strength. Here is an example of a player who added more light ball holds to build external rotation strength. He went from a 0.65 shoulder balance, 66 MPH Fastball, and a painful shoulder to a 0.86 shoulder balance, 76 MPH, and no more pain! From a strength perspective, we have found that light balls help build external rotator strength, while heavy balls do more to improve internal rotation strength. We cover this and more in our ArmCare Specialist Course. @tomhouse @DeanDoxakisNPA @NPA_Pitching

The most valuable 20min you can spend today training... is watching our video on "Health First Weighted Ball Training". Highlight reel here, but the full version is available in our free level of NPA membership. nationalpitching.com/pitching-train…

‘25 3B Tommy Kratz (Methacton) comes up with a late-inning RBI double, 97.2 MPH EV. Seems to find a way to produce vs. top arms. Not afraid to get the barrel out early! Gamer. #PBRFG23 | @KratzTommy | @WestChesterDrag

‘25 RHP Evan Jones (PA) has really settled in, showing pretty big upside. Holding 88-90/91 thru 4 innings so far, really loose arm & plays well up, solid CH & good short SL @ ~79-80. #WWBA @PG_Uncommitted @PGMidAtlantic
