The court in Brest sentenced political prisoner Darya Losik to 2 years in jail. Daria is the wife of my friend, journalist & blogger Ihar Losik. Before, Ihar was sentenced to 14 years. Their daughter Paulina now has both of her parents behind bars.

This is Mursal Nabizadah. She was a former Member of Parliament in Afghanistan and was shot dead in her home last night in Kabul by armed men, alongside her bodyguards. Taliban ruled-Afghanistan is no longer a place for women. For humanity. For life.

474 days since the Taliban BANNED teenage girls from school and 17 days since the Taliban BANNED women from university. Education is NOT a privilege. It is the most basic of human rights. How can the world still remain silent?

My mom grew up picking cotton in the 1950s. Yesterday, she waited in line to once again pick her son to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate. We’ve come a long way, but the work isn’t done! Please vote, Georgia 🗳

Daria Losik, a brave activist, wife, mother, dared to stand up against the regime – for her repressed husband Ihar. Now she is held hostage too – this is how she spends her Birthday today. I wish Daria strength. I wish her to spend the next birthday with Ihar & their baby Paulina

On the condition of Maria Kalesnikava, we demand the following: — to provide information on her health, on reasons for punishment and hospitalization; — allow her family and diplomats to visit her; — to release her from prison unconditionally to provide her with proper treatment

Its legit to debate & argue *future* policy of 2020s London, Birmingham & Manchester too dark & too diverse is at best unconstructive/contentless. If contentful, extreme. Farage should acknowledge he can't now contest eg Jude Bellingham's parents coming twitter.com/sundersays/sta…

My central point. It is legitimate to campaign for lower numbers - as long as that is about future policy and future migrants. It is no longer constructive or legitimate to contest the presence of the ten million themselves. This was recognised on EU nationals (though too slowly)

Douglas Murray's argument about Birmingham is too dark & too diverse isn't about how to halve net migration levels in 2023 (nor even in 2010-19) Its an argument - in 2022 - that Mooen Ali's grandfather shouldn't have been let in, so Ali could be born in Birmingham 35 years ago
