Today, Her Majesty hosted a reception at Clarence House for Surviving Economic Abuse, the UK's only charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it. During the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Her Majesty met with survivors, supporters and staff to hear about their vital work supporting women affected by economic abuse. Economic abuse involves controlling someone's ability to acquire, use and maintain economic resources, and can have a devastating impact on victims' independence and safety. Women stop running in the dark in winter. Women learn to walk under street lights, carry car keys in their hands, report to friends when they leave a venue or start their journey home on their mobile. Try not to travel alone. Women learn from very early on to try & mitigate for sexual assault & abuse. Nearly every female I know has been abused at some level. Women leave spaces they feel threatened in. It takes a very brave woman to say no, loudly for others to hear.

The Health Collective Meeting It was a huge honour to host our third, annual meeting to shape the future for better Women’s Health. It was an opportunity to share learning, what has been achieved and the future plans ahead. I was humbled by all the members who attended to provide their important input as well as Kendall Jamieson Gilmore, DHSC who presented an update about the refresh of the Women’s Health Strategy For too long we have admired the problems in Women’s Healthcare but we have lacked action. The 10year Women’s Health Strategy is a step in the right direction but the success of the strategy only matters if it meets the needs for everyone not just the privileged few At The Health Collective co-founded by myself and @proflesleyregan in collaboration with @wellbeingofwomen we want to ensure that collectively our members’ voices influence government policy through the Women’s Health Strategy, which aims to make sure the health and care system works for everyone. Together we will create collaborative solutions to overcome our many common challenges.
