Persistent abdominal discomfort is often overlooked, yet for many people it may signal a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). On World Inflammatory Bowel Disease Day, we recognize the importance of greater awareness, earlier diagnosis, and timely care for conditions such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. As IBD is increasingly becoming a global concern, expanding access to affordable therapies remains essential to improving long-term outcomes for patients. At Biocon, we are committed to working with healthcare communities to help make this possible. #WorldIBDDay #IBD #Gastroenterology #Biocon #Biosimilars #Generics #Healthcare #Immunology #Healthcare

At the Panhellenic Conference on Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) in Rhodes, Biocon Greece engaged with gastroenterology experts on the evolving future of IBD care. Between 2018 and 2022, the proportion of Greek IBD patients using biosimilars increased from 33% to 67%, reflecting the growing role of biosimilars in improving healthcare sustainability and access to care. As the burden of chronic autoimmune diseases continues to rise, expanding access to sustainable, long-term IBD care is more essential than ever before. Our teams discussed treatment optimization, disease management strategies, and the critical role biosimilars can play in supporting both healthcare systems and patients across Greece. At Biocon, we are committed to advancing access to affordable therapies and improving long-term outcomes for people living with IBD. #Biocon #IBD #Biosimilars #Healthcare #Immunology #Gastroenterology Source: centerforbiosimilars.com/view/biosimila…

In the May cover story of @FortuneIndia, @kiranshaw reflects on over four decades of building Biocon — from pioneering industrial enzymes to becoming a global biosimilars leader. A journey defined by reinvention, innovation, and the courage to take bold bets where others saw uncertainty. As Biocon looks ahead to its next chapter, the focus is clear: high-value biotech innovation, powered by emerging technologies such as AI. In the same feature, Shreehas Tambe outlines the three strategic priorities shaping Biocon’s next phase of growth: integrating technology platforms to unlock scale and efficiency, embedding augmented intelligence – AI amplified by human intelligence – to accelerate innovation and enable smarter decision-making, and transforming Biocon into a stronger global market-facing organisation. With the launch of Office of Augmented Intelligence and enterprise-wide investments in data digitisation, Biocon is building an ecosystem where human expertise and AI work together to unlock new possibilities in biotech innovation. As Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Shreehas Tambe share in the story, the future of biotech will belong to those who can combine scientific ambition with technological intelligence. #Biocon #Biosimilars #AIinHealthcare #AugmentedIntelligence #BiotechInnovation #KiranShaw #Biotech #India

“FY26 was a pivotal year for Biocon, marked by the successful integration of our biosimilars and generics business to create one unified biopharmaceutical enterprise with greater scale, capability, and reach. Even as we integrated the businesses, Biocon delivered ~200 basis points of EBITDA margin expansion at a consolidated level on a like-to-like basis, driven by an improved product mix and operational excellence. Our biosimilars business recorded 16% YoY growth in revenue and 40% increase in EBITDA, on a like-to-like basis. Growth was led by strong performance in advanced markets and key tender wins across emerging markets. With the integration now complete, we shift gears in fiscal 2027 from the “Preserve” phase of our strategy to “Consolidate”, as we set up the business for sustainable growth.” – Shreehas Tambe, CEO and Managing Director, Biocon Limited #FY26results #Q4FY26 Read more: biocon.com/biocon-q4fy26-…

"Biocon closed FY26 on a strong note despite a complex geopolitical environment. We delivered margin expansion along with 13% YoY growth in operating revenue, excluding the one-time impact of generic lenalidomide sales last year. This performance reflects the resilience of our business and disciplined execution through a pivotal year of integration. We have created a unified biopharma entity by integrating biosimilars business with generics formulations and APIs business. The combined business has a stronger balance sheet, improved leverage metrics and a more global commercial footprint. We are now focused on profitability enhancement and long-term value creation.” – @kiranshaw, Executive Chairperson, Biocon Limited #FY26results #Q4FY26 Read more: lnkd.in/gceZmHjP

@kiranshaw, Executive Chairperson, Biocon, is among the women featured in Her Place Women's Museum’s ‘Finding Her’ - an Australian initiative that documents women whose contributions are commemorated through places, streets and landmarks in Australia. What makes this initiative distinctive is its use of geographical tagging to map these recognitions, creating a digital archive that connects stories, spaces and history in a powerful, accessible way. The feature highlights Mazumdar-Shaw Drive at Federation University Australia's Mt. Helen campus in Victoria, Australia, unveiled in2015, a lasting tribute that reflects her global impact beyond industry, shaped by purpose-driven science and a commitment to advancing affordable innovation in global health. By documenting how women are remembered in public spaces, ‘Finding Her’ is building a visible record of leadership, legacy and progress – echoing the broader impact of science-led innovation in shaping societies. Read more here: herplacemuseum.org.au/profile/dr-kir… #Biocon #KiranMazumdarShaw #WomenInLeadership

@kiranshaw, Executive Chairperson, Biocon Limited, has been honored as a SAHIT Global Icon 2025, recognizing her contributions to biotechnology, entrepreneurship and advancing affordable healthcare in India. SAHIT is a platform convening changemakers across sectors to shape a strategic roadmap for Viksit Bharat 2047, with a special focus on advancing women's participation and leadership in the workforce. #Biocon #ViksitBharat #WomenInLeadership #SAHIT
Subi Chaturvedi@subichaturvedi

Honouring 𝗠𝘀. 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘇𝘂𝗺𝗱𝗮𝗿-𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘄 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝗔𝗛𝗜𝗧 Global 𝗜𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰-𝟮𝟱 Two years ago, we started Sahit with one ambition: create a platform that facilitates equality, equity and inclusion. Supported by Indian National Science Academy - INSA @insa_academy , Miranda House, @UnivofDelhi and ASSOCHAM, our first goal: getting more women in the formal workforce. This is crucial to competing with large global economies and achieving ambitious growth targets. We need female heroes and role models to drive systemic change, challenge structural barriers, inspire the next generation, and redefine what leadership looks like in India. That is why we celebrate women leaders, achievers and changemakers who are not just breaking barriers, but building pathways, reshaping systems, and paving the way for the next generation. It gives me immense pleasure to recognize Dr. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw (@kiranshaw) as a 𝗦𝗔𝗛𝗜𝗧 Global 𝗜𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 for her extraordinary leadership, pioneering spirit, and transformative impact as a trailblazing entrepreneur in India’s biotechnology sector. As the Founder and Executive Chairperson of @Bioconlimited, she has not only built a globally respected enterprise but also redefined the role of Indian innovation in advancing affordable healthcare solutions. She has created thousands of jobs, nurtured countless startups, and put Bengaluru on the global biotech map. Her leadership extends far beyond the boardroom, through the Mazumdar Shaw Medical Foundation, she’s made world-class cancer care accessible to all, embodying the spirit of seva (service) alongside enterprise. As a fearless pathbreaker, she didn't just build a company; she built an industry. When the world said India couldn't manufacture complex biologics, she pioneered the country's first indigenous insulin and slashed cancer drug prices by over 90%. In doing so, she transformed India from a dependent consumer into a global hub for affordable, life-saving healthcare, proving that commercial success and social impact are not opposites but allies. A vocal advocate for women in #STEM, she has consistently used her platform to mentor the next generation of female scientists and entrepreneurs, urging them to “think big, fail fast, and never settle.” @Sahit_Platform honours Ms. Shaw not just as a nation-builder who seamlessly blends profit with purpose, innovation with inclusion, and ambition with empathy. Her unparalleled contribution to India’s biotech sovereignty, unwavering commitment to affordable healthcare, and her role as a torchbearer for women-led development, we proudly confer upon her the SAHIT Global Icon Award. She was formally recognized on the 27th March, 2026, by @DrJitendraSingh, Union Minister of State (Independant charge) Department of Science & Technology, Government of India (@IndiaDST) and Earth Sciences & me at the SAHIT Summit & Awards, Delhi. Many congratulations Dr Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, and thank you for inspiring an entire generation. @ASSOCHAM4India @able_indiabio @ITBTGoK #SAHIT #SAHIT2025 #innovation #publicpolicy #biotech

Bengaluru just got a new soul — and you can see it the moment you land. At the Arrival Forecourt of Terminal 2, Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, “Bengaluru’s Soul,” a striking new cultural landmark by critically acclaimed Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, now welcomes the world. The installation was unveiled by H.E. Juan Antonio March Pujol, Ambassador of Spain to India, in the esteemed presence of Mr. Priyank M Kharge, Honourable Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, and Information Technology & Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka, with @kiranshaw, Chairperson, Biocon Group, and @HariMarar, Managing Director & CEO, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), in attendance, alongside artist Jaume Plensa. More than an installation, it is a statement—a reflection of a city that has evolved beyond its identity as India’s tech capital into a global crossroads of culture, ideas and dialogue. Supported by Biocon Foundation India, the sculpture represents a deeper commitment to Bengaluru’s growth, not just in science and innovation, but in spirit. From rejuvenating lakes to strengthening urban ecology, advancing public health and enabling community development, the focus remains clear: building a city that is as thoughtful as it is forward-looking. Because shaping a global city is not just about infrastructure. It is about nurturing its soul. @BLRAirport #Bengaluru #CulturalIdentity #Biocon #UrbanTransformation

Oral cancer often begins with very subtle symptoms. According to WHO, oral cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers worldwide, with India recording the highest number of cases followed by China and the United States. At Biocon, we believe early detection should never depend on chance. Through the Biocon Foundation, we have enabled more than 94,000 free cancer screenings since 2014, bringing preventive care to underserved communities across India. This Oral Cancer Awareness Month, we are reaffirming the commitment that defines us: advancing access to early detection, strengthening community health systems and ensuring that more people can seek care before it’s too late. Every screening can help save a voice. #OralCancerAwarenessMonth #GivingVoiceToCare #Biocon

Eye inflammation is often overlooked. For people living with uveitis – an inflammatory eye condition – symptoms such as blurred vision, eye pain, redness or sensitivity to light can appear suddenly and become a persistent problem. If left untreated, uveitis can cause serious complications such as cloudy lenses, retinal damage and, in severe cases, partial or permanent loss of vision. Despite its impact, awareness remains limited. On World Uveitis Day, start conversations with medical professionals that can help recognize early warning signs. Together, we can shine a light on this disease and encourage people to seek timely care. #WorldUveitisDay #SeekHelpForUveitis

Few leaders grow with a company long enough to transform it. Fewer still lead its defining chapter. From Management Trainee to Managing Director, Shreehas Tambe’s journey at Biocon is a story shaped by science, scale and self-confidence. Nearly three decades ago, he joined Biocon as a young scientist driven by a belief that innovation must ultimately serve those who need it the most. Over the years, he helped scale businesses, build global manufacturing capability, and expand Biocon’s footprint—always anticipating what patients and healthcare systems would need next. That leadership came into sharp focus with the transformation of Biocon Biologics. As CEO and Managing Director of Biocon’s largest subsidiary, Shreehas played a pivotal role in the acquisition of Viatris global biosimilars business, and the architect who built it into a fully integrated company catapulting Biocon Biologics into the world’s Top 5 biosimilar companies, with a valuation of over ₹50,000 crores (USD 5.5 billion) in 3 years. Today, as he assumes charge as the CEO & Managing Director of Biocon Limited to lead our combined generics and biosimilars business, Shreehas stands at the helm of yet another transformation. The next chapter is to build a fully integrated global medicines company that will compete and win on leveraging technology, scale and reach. From MT to MD - this is leadership shaped over time, and built for what comes next.
