It's embarrassing to be associated with crypto anymore.
The cypherpunk culture and ideals we once held tight have been drowned out by slobbering degenerate memecoin dopamine junkies.
The vision still exists - crypto can be more than a glorified casino - but the reputation has taken on irreparable damage. It's going to take more work than ever for builders to overcome the mountain of suspicion that their product is "just another scam" - not to mention garnering normie attention will require exceptional effort.
I don't blame Peter at all for blocking anybody with a sniff of crypto on their profile. The "trenches" have always been a cancer.
But we build on, with the hope that someday a product - one with meaningful effects - breaks through.

Openclaw founder reveals he almost deleted the entire codebase because of crypto. "I didn't know that they're not just good at harassment, they are also really good at using scripts and tools. I underestimated those people. Honestly, I was that close to just deleting it."
