A curious looking male Klaas's cuckoo (Chrysococcyx klaas), Kuwinda, Nairobi.
Cuckoo's are brood parasites, laying their eggs in warblers, sunbirds, flycatchers and white-eyes nests and letting them hatch and rear their chicks.

Two Grey Crowned Cranes lie dead. Suspected death from Electrocution as there is a live power line along the path that I use for my long walks. A lot of the myths I hear about them is that they are usually bound for life. If one partner dies, it affects the other as they are a monogamous bird species. The partner may struggle to integrate into other grey Crowned Crane populations.
These birds are actually facing dwindling populations due to habitat loss, increased human activities in their habitats, poaching among many vices.
