To creatively insult without actually swearing, just use this Shakespearean Insult Kit. Combine one word from each column, & preface it with “Thou”, to create satisfyingly impolite abuse such as “Thou beslubbering, pottle-deep clotpole” writerswrite.co.za/shakespearean-…

Have finally managed to bag all 4 of Hampshire’s C12 Bishop Henry Tournai fonts! Which is your favourite? 1) Winchester’s St Nicholas 2) East Meon’s Adam & Eve 3) Southampton’s dragons 4) St Mary Bourne’s grapes & lilies

The Hindsgavl Dagger is a remarkable artifact from the Neolithic period. Found in 1886 on the Danish island of Fænø, which was then owned by Hindsgavl Manor on Funen, this dagger is one of the finest examples of a so-called fishtail flint dagger from the end of the Nordic Stone Age. The dagger was made around 1900-1800 BC and is now housed in the collection of the National Museum of Denmark. It measures 29.5 cm (11.6 in) long and has a blade thickness of less than 1 cm (0.39 in). The design of the dagger was inspired by imported bronze daggers, which had already started to appear on the Scandinavian market. The Hindsgavl Dagger is also featured on the current Danish 100-krone banknote. Despite its historical significance and exquisite craftsmanship, much about the Hindsgavl Dagger remains a mystery, making it a fascinating piece of Neolithic history. #archaeohistories

Of particular interest are three sketches believed to depict not Jacobites or anti-Jacobite militiamen from Scotland, but British Army regulars – those later known commonly as the “redcoats.” 7/12
