If You Plan To Spend 6 Months On The Job Preparing, It Means You Are Preparing For More Than One Term! A leader who is prepared to lead will tour Nigerian states BEFORE he is elected. He will not wait until AFTER he is elected to tour the country. You only have four years in a term. You can't prepare to be President while you are President. You have to plan before you become President so that when you do become President, you can hit the ground running. President Bola Tinubu visited EVERY state in Nigeria multiple times BEFORE he became President. A person who admits they would spend their first 180 days visiting Nigerian states is also conceding that they are not ready for the job they so desperately seek. When will you pick and swear in your cabinet, inaugurate the National Assembly, appoint your Service Chiefs and the National Security Council, as well as the Economic Management Team? At what point will you put in place management teams for the Central Bank of Nigeria, the NNPCL, and the NLNG, and ultimately reform the system? There is a reason Presidents all over the world mark the anniversary of their first 100 days in office: it sets the tone for the remaining days of the four-year term. To paraphrase the Lukumi-Yoruba, if you spend 180 days preparing for madness, then for how long will you be mad? The only logical conclusion is that you are planning to do more than one term of four years! It makes no sense for the President of a country in need of Foreign Direct Investment to remain in his own country. He must engage in economic diplomacy to attract FDI to his country. And, as a direct result of President Tinubu's foreign travels, the following investments have been attracted to Nigeria: $500 Million APM Terminal Investment $20 Billion Shell BP Deepwater Project $500 Million Ubeta Gas Project $2.5 Billion JBS Meat Processing Plant To mention a few. This influx of FDI and FPI into Nigeria is driving the expansion of the Nigerian capital market. On Friday, December 30, 2022, the total market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange stood at ₦27.915 trillion. Today, it is ₦122 trillion. Almost five times what it was before President Tinubu was elected. It is pedestrian for anybody to criticise President Tinubu's foreign travels when you consider the benefits to Nigeria, and I urge prominent Nigerians to be circumspect in their public utterances about our nation's economy. @gentleLANRE @tvcnewsng There's no justification to assume that position. Not all their 9 subjects are compulsory. They do 9 to score a minimum of 5 credits. Subjects dont have to be made compulsory before they do well in them. All they need is a basic knowledge of Maths for every day use.

@gentleLANRE @tvcnewsng Not sure I defined any depth that seems to suggest Further Maths. Remember this policy is not suggesting that elementary maths will not be offered at all, but that it will not be a compulsory requirement for admission for those category of students.

@Bisistic @tvcnewsng Mathematics doesn't have the depth you're referring to. That is Further Maths. Mathematics help everyone to develop core skills like critical thinking and problem solving. This is why it is the earliest subject a child starts even from KG.

Guys, please I need help at Ikorodu General Hospital. My wife is in an emergency but no one is attending to her with the urgency that is needed. She hasn’t been able to expel placenta for over 4 hours now, and everybody seems to be laid back about it.

The JAMB score that got me admitted into the university years ago was 225. I applied for Mass Communication. I was admitted into Theatre Arts instead. 225 could not get me admitted into Mass Communication. Today, the minimum scores for admission into universities and polytechnics are 150 and 100. While candidates seeking admissions into Education, and Agriculture programs are now exempted from UTME Education is being undermined before our very eyes. Pathetic. Shameful

@Mekus_Okenwa @rukky_nate Every institution sets up admission cut off marks per department, irrespective of the general JAMB minimum obtainable of 150. The 150 means, while institutions set up their cut-off marks, none should be below 150...but could be higher.

@JenniferZe10156 @rukky_nate Exactly...unfortunately, most people seem not to understand this going by the comments I read here. They thought rhe 150 is the cut off mark and meaning a lowering of education standard.

@rukky_nate You're not understanding. That 225 still won't get you Mass Communication today. Having 250 sef is very risky. The 150 is just the floor.

Now it is confirmed that Alex Ekubo died of liver cancer, a little bit of education. Before we start, please note that the facts below are without prejudice to the actual trigger for liver cancer in the late Actor, as despite identifiable triggers, many patients who die of liver cancer have no known identifiable cause. This writeup is just to help educate people on the possible causes of liver cancer and how to prevent them. Another push to make this writeup stems from the fact that my own late father died of Liver Cancer. ————————————————————- Major Causes: ———————- 1. Hepatitis B and C: Many associate more stigma with HIV, forgetting that in today’s world, people infected with HIV now live normal lives and actually attain a normal life span, forgetting that hepatitis B and C, extremely dreaded diseases cause much more damage if untreated. Most cases of Hep B and C are contracted through blood (mostly from transfusion and illicit drug use) and other bodily fluids (mostly from sex) The virus itself is NOT the cancer, however the longer it stays in the system, the higher the chances it destroys the liver and renders the liver cells cancerous. Prevention: a. At least one test for Hep B and C once you attain 18 years of age. b. Early and timely treatment of infection. c. If you have tested positive to Hep B or C, ensure you carry out later tests to ensure the virus has been eradicated. Many people are chronic carriers of this virus but do not know. d. Avoid sharing needles (for drug users) e. Thorough screening of blood before transfusion. f. Safe sex practices for multiple partners or partners with unknown sexual history. g. For those who can afford it (and healthcare workers), there is a hep B vaccine available. ——————- 2. Alcohol and Tobacco use The liver is the detoxification factory of the human body. The reason why most foods we eat appear harmless is because the liver neutralises the poisons inside them. While the liver is extremely happy to carry out these functions for a lifetime, there are certain toxins that overwhelm it with the passage of time. Alcohol and tobacco are the two most notorious culprits. The reason is not far fetched. Natural foods contain toxins in concentrations that the liver can cope with, while alcohol and tobacco are mostly processed products. Alcohol and tobacco wear down certain specialised cells in the liver over time, and when cells begin to lose their function, mistakes are made during cell reproduction and this is the first signal for cancer. Prevention: a. Stop smoking. b. Reduce alcohol intake to a manageable level. ————————— 3. Aflatoxins. These are toxins created by fungi that contaminate groundnut, wheat, soybean, corn and rice. The fungi thrives more in warmer environments, so tropical countries are more at risk. Governments usually mandate testing such products for aflatoxin levels before they are considered safe for consumption, as long term exposure to aflatoxins predisposes people to liver cancer. It becomes even worse if the victim of the exposure already has chronic hepatitis B or C, as the probability of future cancer increases several fold. Prevention: a. As much as possible, avoid any nut, wheat or grain based food that looks rotten. b. Governments can mandate test on aflatoxin levels of same products. ——————— 4. Excess Body Weight. This causes an infiltration of the liver with fatty tissue. Though most times there is no complication, occasionally there is, and the liver cells are overwhelmed and become cancerous. Prevention: a. Loose weight. ————————- 5. Vinyl Chloride These are chemicals which are used in making certain plastics. They have since been identified as being severely toxic to the liver. Many governments have since started strictly regulating this substance and mandated liver tests as part of pre-employment checks. ——————— Obinna Oligweke 1/2

My condolences to the family & friends of @AlexxEkubo who passed on yesterday after a prolonged battle with cancer. Alex was a fine young nollywood star. I love watching him show his best on the screen. At a tender age of 40, he ought to have lived longer...but God knows best.
