So Jeff Yass gets involved with Odyssey then donates over $12M to Abbott, Abbott uses that money to bully legislators into voting for vouchers then Kelly Hancock being the good little controlled puppet he is awards the entire $52M to Odyssey to oversee the vouchers.
This is the definition of funneling money to bought & paid for electeds that sold all Texans out.

Isn’t it interesting that @WithOdyssey_ is a “school choice” VENDOR that has been stumping around the Texas Capitol trying to become one of the FIVE $10M new businesses that will be created with taxpayer funds if HB3/SB2 passes? They also won $500k from @YassPrize who also donated $18.7M to the lobbyists, @SchoolChoiceNow, & Texas electeds including @GregAbbott_TX & @DanPatrick who made “school choice” both of their #1 priorities while ignoring the will of Texas Republicans. They want “transformational” & “permissionless” education which should be absolutely terrifying. They want to transform my child? What if I don’t want my child transformed? They want to transform my child & also do it without my permission? Is this the new government definition of choice? RUNNNNN! Texans get on the phone & call Reps! SB2/HB3 are HORRIBLE bills for all Texans & the vendors waiting in the wings are the worst education grifters & government change agents in the business. Tell them to vote no on #HB3, it is NOT conservative.

Clearly the problem this bill purports to solve is not so dire that the bishops (and others) were willing to support it at all costs, but opposed it because of the enforcement mechanism, now that they stand to benefit from it, they no longer object. #txlege

UPDATE: @Johnseago, prez of TX Right to Life, which helped write the bill, said impacting the old statute was not the primary intent. The group already believes the law is active.
