Comparing a run where Ole Dancer drew one over 1200m & was able to land closer making zero effort to a run where she drew the outside gate over 1400m and complaining that she went back is just rage bait for mug punters. She’s settled as one of the back 3 runners in 5 of 6 starts

@Champ_Ratings Punters should’ve done the form and seen that she has settled in the back three in 5 of 6 starts which would have her racing pattern as a back marker. One run doesn’t make a pattern

@mortdoyle Zero effort is a huge overstatement and the instructions were to settle back. That doesn’t change just because the horse jumps well from the outside gate when first up over 1400m. There are times where you have to accept fate and settle into the horses pattern & hope for speed

@BlakeSpriggs That’s the point though it would’ve taken 0 effort to land closer the other day. Hard to see how making her run up in low 32s is less taxing than rolling on and having less to do late.

@Page1991Adam @7horseracing It is a terrible theory to think that because someone has money, they won’t be deterred my losing $40k. He is clearly not happy about it as he is appealing it. If it wasn’t a deterrent, you’d see big name jockeys throwing the rule out the window but we don’t see that

@BlakeSpriggs @7horseracing With due respect, $40k for J Mac is ashtray money lol not a deterrent at all. IMO, do away with the rule. But, if you want to enforce it properly, be more fair dinkum in suspensions/fines and gradually increase if the breaches continue

I felt the cut on Michael Zerafa wasn’t bad at all. He asked me between rounds “Sweet?” to which I replied “It’s sweet there’s nothing in it”. That’s the total amount of blood on the swab. A very disappointing end to what I thought was shaping as a great contest. #TszyuZerafa
