I am learning tonight that Americans really think the cheddar on their supermarket shelves is actually cheddar

@NicholasJLevi @TSoS_ How are we counting Disney originals? This is just a TIE variation barely different from the TIE Avenger.

@FantasyGalaxies Everyone in 1999 thought the saber duel was cool, not sure what alternate history you’re remembering. It’s the rest of the movie people didn’t like.

I genuinely don't understand how the previous generation watched this in 1999 and 2005 and call it bad....

@santigonver @ShitpostRock2 Is the ghost not one of the various Corellian transport variants from X-Wing Alliance? Even if not the Otana mogs it.

Crazy how after 13 years of Disney Star Wars, they still haven't produced a SINGLE iconic ship design

@ShitpostRock2 All they can do is rehashes and knockoffs to rival the chinese. The only remotely memorable ship they came up with was the one from Dadalorian, but they blew it up and replaced it with a Naboo starfighter because they're just that dependent on bastardized nostalgia-bait.

@pilk_dr @ShitpostRock2 Very telling that most Disney era ships just look like weird boxes and most of the cool looking ones are modified EU designs.

@The_Clermontian They could have made an Andor ship iconic if he stuck with one, but since they switch around a lot there isn’t one ‘Andor’s TIE Avenger’ or ‘Cassian’s U-wing’

Anyone who was gaming between 1800 and 1922 what is the game that you still think about?

The funniest thing about Masters of the Universe is that we are supposed to assume that this place, Castle Grayskull, is the good guy’s place.

@iamdanielgeske @PringledCheeto @Ian_Fisch @ndsnas The lore in the comics that came with the original toys was completely different than what Filmation came up with for the show. IIRC I had a few picture books that used the original lore as well.

@Ian_Fisch @ndsnas The original idea is that it’s a neutral seat of power, and whoever held the power sword had control of it. Like a PvP objective. The sword was originally in two halves, one came with He Man, one with Skeletor. The completed sword could be inserted to open the gate like a key.

@PunishedHoots I’m a big fan of the British(?) pronunciation of the dinosaur Diplodocus dip-low-DOC-us. Just rings more of a real animal name than diPLOD-o-cuss.

@allowableman2 MotU has the same problem as Age of Sigmar. The setting is so limitless and vaguely defined that it’s hard to connect to. The best modern interpretation of the vaguely surreal space fantasy aesthetic was Outland in Warcraft.
