If The Odyssey bombs, we will get a Golden Era of good movies in the coming years. Hold the line.

Nolan's "The Odyssey" is a very diverse film - except that it has zero Greeks in it. It has Americans and Brits a plenty, even an odd Canadian and Lebanese, but no Greeks. 10% of the named cast are Latino, and 1 in 6 of the featured characters are portrayed by people of black African background. But no Greeks. It has Koreans and Indians, and there are even representatives of both the Hindu and Sikh faiths. But no Greeks. There are no Greeks in this foundational story of Western civilization bequeathed to us by the Greeks. But 1 out of 3 of the actors in this film are either Jewish or have a Jewish spouse. Just coincidence, I'm sure. Just remember that "diversity" for these people means many things, but it doesn't include us. And it doesn't include Greeks.

Fast & Furious may be ending in theaters, but NBCUniversal is not done yet. Vin Diesel says the studio is pushing the billion dollar franchise into streaming with new Peacock series, and other spin-offs as Hollywood leans even harder on "proven" brands. bleedingfool.com/movies-tv-film…

After years of shrinking audiences and shaky Disney+ shows, Star Wars heads back to theaters with The Mandalorian and Grogu, but fan interest may not be as strong as Disney hopes, and the film's star Pedro Pascal isn't helping. bleedingfool.com/movies-tv-film…

He-Man has a massive budget. but is looking at a very modest box office forecast. The IP already had baggage, raising tough questions about whether nostalgia can carry Masters of the Universe, or if Jared Leto's Skeletor gets the last, sickening laugh. bleedingfool.com/movies-tv-film…

Nolan claims his 'Odyssey' aims for authentic, epic scale but its divisive, modern casting, strange creative choices, and an adaptation of a feminist revision threatens to turn Homer’s myth into a politically divisive Hollywood product. Is that the point? bleedingfool.com/blogs/was-chri…

This is not satire. This is a fully sanctioned, official James Bond novel.

@rkylesmith Imagine thinking this is a strong argument. Comparing the casting of Ledger as the Joker to Page as a Greek god.

Amazon built a giant live-action Voltron spectacle with Henry Cavill, massive robot battles, and blockbuster ambition... only to send it straight to streaming? Fans are asking the obvious question: why? bleedingfool.com/movies-tv-film…
