@bartonovopolis I don’t even think they’re need to be period pieces, we just don’t need characters using iPhones or laptops because they aren’t dynamic. Peter walking into the Daily Bugle and seeing Jameson in his office on a laptop doesn’t hit the same as seeing Jameson with a big newspaper.

Today has shown just how clueless and brain dead alot of Resident Evil "fans" actually are. It's pathetic that there are people crying about there being snow in the new movie, or complaining about it being an original character and story instead of a 1:1 adaptation. (1/6)

Two things can be true. - Zach Cregger’s film is going to be great and will potentially be viewed as the RE7 of the Resident Evil Movies. - Resident Evil fans also have every right to be frustrated because they want general audiences to experience the characters and the stories that turned them into fans in the first place.

@RamzaWrestling It has the horror elements but not the cheesiness and campiness or hell, the action too So far. It looks to be a good horror movie, but the trailer makes it seem like you can slap another title to it and it'll still work. I don't see the essence of RE in it yet.

I see the vision, but it's not Resident Evil. For a first trailer, my impression is that they're making this into generic indie horror movie, and I know he has a good reputation, but RE is not just about the horror. It's also the campiness and cheese that comes with it.

@artofcatwoman It's an adaptation, we don't need a one to one just one that ADAPTS the story into a new medium. Lord of the rings changes stuff to fit being a movie but if you read the book you can atleast tell its the same story. Why is it a crime to want an RE movie to be an RE movie

The comments and reactions under this trailer have reminded me yet again why I hate ‘discussions’ on social media. These people just want more of the same – the same old stuff, the same characters, and ideally THE SAME STORIES BUT IN LIVE ACTION.
