@KQSupport Why are you still selling tickets for flights out of Dubai that you know aren't going to take off? Taking people's money for "confirmed" bookings during an airspace crisis is predatory. I need a real update on kq311 scheduled for the 30th, not an automated loop

I agree with Zimbabwean preacher Emmanuel Makandiwa that the law is, and should always be, a product of common sense. You cannot destroy a country’s economy and then chase vendors from the streets, relying on Rhodesian council by-laws that were put in place when the country had an economy to speak of. It is as ridiculous as it is stupid to drive people away from vending when you know there are no jobs for them to sustain their families. Most of those being forced off the streets are women—elderly women looking after grandchildren whose parents have died. How do you expect them to survive after you looted the money meant for social security?

The regime will not bow unless you, as a political party and Zimbabweans in general, give it a reason to. The tyrant is at his weakest moment, grappling with serious internal squabbles that could cut his reign short, but the opposition leadership has done nothing to turn up the heat. He will relent if you increase the cost of his repression; without that, nothing will change. SADC will also not intervene because he is the chairman. They will only act if Zimbabweans stop pussyfooting! It will also be extraordinarily absurd if the @commonwealthsec readmitted this senseless regime back into the fold after putting up a middle finger at civility! It will just make it a joke organisation!

It is sad that only 29 of the Avondale 48 have been acquitted by the Harare Magistrate Court. The rest, including Hon. Timba, have been unjustly found guilty by the regime in Harare. We reiterate our unwavering position: all 48 are innocent and must be released. After 166 days of pretrial detention, justice demands their immediate freedom

@daddyhope We seek opportunities like these, I wish there were stokvel platforms like in south Africa where they contribute small amounts of money every month to open businesses. This will also help change our lives, we have ideas but no capital so a setup like that will enable us to earn

It seems my post yesterday about bringing Zimbabwean goods into Britain and beyond has generated a lot of social media chatter. Most businesses are born out of frustration, exposure, and networking. Whenever I visit different countries, I look for opportunities and share them with Zimbabweans on my social media platforms. I have always supported Zim businesses both at home and abroad without taking a cent, because it is simply my nature to want to see others do well. I have been frustrated by how difficult it is to get Zim and African products consistently and at fair prices in many Western countries. After my trip to Canada last week, where Mazoe is $18 a bottle, I thought there must be a way to bring the price down and make these products more available not just for the Zim and African market in the UK and other Western countries, but also to locals in those countries. I believe there is more money to be made by making Zimbabwean and African products accessible to locals in foreign countries than by only targeting the Zim and African market. I want British citizens to seek out Mazoe or Tanganda because they are quality products. My target market is the locals, and reaching them requires hard work, but it is hard work I am prepared to put in, and you can all help me by telling your British friends once this is up and running. YOU will be the ambassadors of this concept, you are the ones to vouch for the products. This week, I called a senior diplomat at the British embassy to discuss this. He was helpful, informing me that all goods from Zimbabwe are duty-free when coming into Britain, this is a good starting point. To me, this is an opportunity to make an English man or woman want to drink Tanganda because it is readily available in shops they are familiar with. I don’t mind sharing these ideas publicly because I believe that if I have an idea that will allow all of us to make money and make our products more visible and available, instead of them being a novelty, we should pursue it. This creates more jobs in Zimbabwe and also creates some jobs here in Britain. My task is simple; to make Zimbabwean products local in foreign countries. If some think it cannot be done, there is no harm in trying. I am not asking for capital, I am using my money, all I ask for is support in making this work not just for me and those that will join hands with me, but for everyone including the consumers. When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, he was told how foolish he was by the candlemakers. If he had listened, we would still be using candles of various designs today. Many people advise me not to share what I am doing, but I share because I don’t mind if others do the same if it brings them success. Having an idea and vision is different from stealing an idea and vision; the difference always shows in execution. If I can make just a dollar profit per bottle of Mazoe, the trick is in the numbers, selling 100,000 bottles would yield $100,000 profit, which is significant. That requires us to look outside our communities in the diaspora, that is my dream. However, I am saddened that the focus has been on Mazoe alone. I am also looking at Tanganda, Cerevita, and products from South Africa all the way to East Africa. Tesco should have an African corner, ASDA should have one too. I am not opening a shop or shops, my dream is for anyone to be able to order Tanganda online today and have it in their kitchen tomorrow, and to have local supermarkets carry these products too. That is my dream because it benefits Africa and Africans living abroad. There is no harm in trying; we can only learn, and every bit of knowledge is useful for tomorrow’s challenges. The Indian man with a corner shop never lost business because of Tesco; both continue to make money and live side by side. As I said, that is my dream, are you ready to make it a reality with me? Let us not focus on why it can’t be done, let us look at how it can be done!

South Africa and Jamaica have now come full circle in music, from Lucky Dube’s reggae influence to Bob Marley’s son, @JulianMarley, receiving a Grammy nomination for Jah Sees Them, an Amapiano track. Jah Sees Them, which has been nominated for a 2025 Grammy Award, is a collaboration with producer Alexx Antaeus and has been recognised in the category of Best Remixed Recording. This nomination marks Julian Marley’s fourth Grammy nod. He has won one Grammy Award so far, receiving it in 2024 for Best Reggae Album for his collaborative album with Antaeus, Colors of Royal.

This is what happens when a country has a president who appoints incompetent cabinet ministers and does not care about the consequences of such appointments, the country becomes a laughingstock. Under Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe has had the least qualified cabinet ministers on the continent. We have become a running joke in the African diplomatic community. I do not know why Zimbabwe’s secret service organisation, the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO), does not tell the Zimbabwean tyrant that this is a state security risk and that it has diminished Zimbabwe’s standing in the region and beyond. If you are going to appoint people based on their relationships with you, then appoint the most competent individuals from your circle of friends rather than the least qualified. Zimbabwe is suffering because of these comical appointments, it is embarrassing!

I have read many stories of spouses, especially husbands of COS visa holders, who struggle with finding well paying employment in the UK. Did you know that if 10 or 15 of you come together, you can set up a cleaning company and make good money as shareholders instead of just being workers? Do not let depression overwhelm you triggered by survival worries and financial stress. Be innovative and think outside the box for business opportunities that are simple and that can make you wealthy and give you peace of mind. Look around your communities for things that you can do and that can bring in decent income for you instead of waiting for that job that is related to what you studied. My struggle with being Zimbabwean is that my people often look for reasons why they cannot do something, rather than seeking solutions to what they see as obstacles. You will never succeed in life if all you are looking for reasons why you cannot do something. I was a C student in school. We had exceptionally smart students ahead of us, but my father taught me to always look for a reason to do something and find ways to overcome potential stumbling blocks. What separates C students from A students is determination and effort and a state of mind that says, “….I will do it.” The mentality of always searching for reasons why you cannot do something leads to envy and jealousy, you may end up like the person who spends years obsessing over how someone else bought a car decades ago.🤣🤣🤣 You might even spread lies about how others acquired their homes because you are a hopeless failure, believing everyone should fail as you have, instead of focusing on your life and how you can make it better. England is a land of opportunities for those who dare to dream, if you do not take risks in life when pursuing business ideas and opportunities, you will remain stagnant. You must eliminate the negative mindset of always finding reasons why you cannot do something. Start something, if you face hurdles, deal with them, there is nothing that comes easy in life, we have to work hard towards our goals. If you think a job is easier than starting your own thing, remember that someone had to start that company that is giving you a job, that is why they are wealthy. When you are thrown into a hole, do not make life in that hole comfortable, as many Zimbabweans do, find a way to get out of it. No business was set up without problems being encountered. The difference between success and failure is your attitude. The reason many Zimbabweans do not celebrate each other is their focus on why they could not achieve the same, questioning how others managed to do it, more like why, why, why. White farmers were thrown off the farms, but today if you go on Borrowdale’s Harare Drive stretch, they now own huge businesses making more money than they did in farming. Those guys didn’t even go to university, they were just farmers who learned a trade and used it coupling it with common sense. When I started my bier fish project, many were making jokes out of it calling me Mbudziyadhura, the jokes stopped and were replaced with social media posts saying I am overcharging when they realised that I was selling a six month old goat for US$500. I have I had listened to those laughing at me, I wouldn’t have started the project, I look at the how I could do it and not why I couldn’t do it. So compatriots in the UK on spousal visas, look for opportunities and not excuses, make it work. Britain has business loans and genuine business advisors, go for it!
