@BlinPalacinka I started in the games industry in 1995. I've never felt piracy had a meaningful negative impact on sales. In fact, it helps spread word-of-mouth. Pirate away if you want, just be careful of viruses and shit.

@BarrellTitor44 @BlinPalacinka I get what you mean, but to be clear: It's a bit different to traditional 'cracking', which refers to bypassing DRM This is reconstructing server code/assets and is a very high skill effort only a fraction of the population can perform, most online only games will never have one

@Blazar_Impact Wouldn't say it's flawed. If they make shit like that then I'm just not gonna play the game. Even tarkov does have single player mod and you need to own the game for that in most cases. I guess the case the indie genre booms today is because you can try with piracy and then buy.

@BlinPalacinka This argument is flawed because a lot of these kill switches are predicated on vital aspects of a game being artificially locked away on the server side, which cant be cracked if it's only verification it can potentially be bypasses, but if it contains game logic it's much harder

Last month some long planned hardware upgrades were completed. Everything's faster now though the database still gets sluggish during peak hours, so more work's needed there. More storage was also planned but the astronomical prices of SSDs have put that on hold. There's empty bays waiting for their return. Over in the Xbox Vault all xiso files have been rebuilt using the xdvdfs library. This should fix errors in many games that extract-xiso couldn't process correctly. :) Hope everyone has a great week! vimm.net
