🇨🇺 Trump signs executive order dramatically escalating "sanctions" on Cuba, targeting energy, finance, and security sectors President Trump signed an executive order Friday, marking one of the most sweeping expansions of US economic pressure on Cuba in decades, blocking the US assets of foreign individuals and entities operating in Cuba's energy, defense, financial services, metals, mining, and security sectors, as well as anyone acting on behalf of the Cuban government. The order also authorizes sanctions on foreign financial institutions that conduct significant transactions with designated Cuban entities, potentially cutting them off from US correspondent banking. This move could further isolate Cuba from the international financial system, limit foreign investment, and exacerbate the island's already severely restricted access to medicine, food imports, and basic goods. The order builds on Trump's January declaration of a national emergency over Cuba — the same legal basis used to justify the ongoing fuel blockade. Researchers at the Center for Economic and Policy Research found that US unilateral coercive measures had driven Cuba's infant mortality rate to its highest level in decades, rising 148% since 2018.

Despicable news. NYC’s @TheNewSchool student senate has voted to suspend Hillel’s funding & collaboration. Hillel is the center of Jewish life on campus. Not a word, of course, from NYC’s “antisemitism czar” @phylisajoy who appears to be on a perpetual “listening tour” serving as Mamdani’s official token Jew.

Let’s talk about Khaled Daher. A paramedic in Lebanon’s Civil Defence. Not a fighter. Not a “target.” A first responder who ran toward danger to save lives. Two days ago, he was killed, along with two of his colleagues, when they were directly targeted while trying to rescue a civilian trapped under rubble. But his story doesn’t start there. Khaled wasn’t just a paramedic. He was the backbone of his family. After his brother died in Bulgaria, he went searching for him, across borders & through uncertainty, until he finally located his grave & brought him back to Lebanon, where he laid him to rest. He then became a father figure to his brother’s daughter, raising her as his own, carrying a responsibility that wasn’t his to bear, but one he chose anyway. He was a son, a brother, a provider, a quiet pillar holding others up. And in the end, he died the same way he lived, trying to save someone else. Khaled Daher didn’t just lose his life. His family lost their support. People lost the man who showed up when everything else fell apart. His niece has now lost both fathers. Khaled spent his life saving others. He was killed while doing exactly that. This is what is being lost. Over 103 medics and rescue workers have been killed since March 2. Not numbers. First responders. Lives that held other lives together.

Stay vigilant my friends. There is an escalation of surreal factors set to distract us, and set to suffocate our communal rage against the obvious injustices. Palestine continues to suffer, Lebanon suffers, the Congo suffers, Cuba suffers, and the US empire is behind it all.

You seem nice, but I believe the peoples liberation of these two are not antagonistic to the ideals of liberation key to one piece. That's the main message I want to convey. Ty

@BlithelyD @nomenome124 @thenerdking215 And, sadly, the USSR under Stalin would not have been something he would have wanted to get behind. They WANTED to be a force for liberation, but fell behind that ideal. He might have supported the REVOLUTIONS, but not the governments or leaders.

The people of Cuba have fought valiantly and relentlessly to protect their liberation against the boot heel of empire, and I find your approach toward this unproductive. Critique as you wish, but if there's no coalition against imperialism, then there's no use.

The people of the USSR and China were a force of liberation. They're an extension of the will of liberation. Stalin and Mao are not depots but an extension of this battle.

@hiZ0EY @thenerdking215 Cuba was a near serf society that liberated by the campesinos from virtual enslavement toward a worker's dictatorship. The state apparatus formed by the people was and is necessary within Cuba. Else, the immediate counter revolutions by the US would've succeeded immediately.
