A lot of people are making fun of me for taking out my 401k to invest in CS Skins. But to me it seemed like the smart idea. Over the last 5 years the CS Economy has outperformed the S&P 500 every year. So I thought I could take my $72,000 of savings & retire sooner. I was wrong.

Alright real question: How much of this Palworld demand is real vs people just looking for something to scalp? We spent months putting up posters and asking around to see what demand there was and how much to order. The result? One single person that wanted 1 box.

@TheGStands4Gets @PokeTeeJay They are trying to build it into a legitimate IP, there is a spinoff game coming out soon, another spinoff not as far into development, a mobile game, and an animated television show reportedly in the works.

Went to snag more Palworld boxes and they’re sold out already I just want something to open for cheap and enjoy it without it selling out instantly or being scalped 😂

Palworld has been fun but the 10 minute cooldown on dead Pals feels unnecessary. Like if I'm glued to a specific Pal, I'm not gonna all of a sudden decide to use a different party. I'm waiting that 10 minutes buddy lol

@BigBensSports Yes, also if you go looking for a specific card or good deal they might be gone if you arent their early. Do you PC a player who is struggling atm? Well ebay prices will likely be better because dealers probably are invested too much into the card. I would only go again if close.

Is The National Card Show cool if you aren’t rich? My perception is that it’s awesome if you’re looking for high-end cards, but small-town shows have better value boxes and more opportunities to find hidden gems. For those who’ve been - is that accurate?

@yanxchick One of the surprising things I learned since I started setting up at shows is the amount of deals that occur between dealers prior to the start of a show. Still, I’ve only seen someone get completely bought out during or after a show.

Convo heard on the show floor: Guy (looking at empty card cases on a table): You sold out? Dealerv Yep, just cashed out everything. Show doesn't open until 1.

@TechNRKTreasure @ThoseBackPages Its all about people trying to add the most value to their cards. They dont see the value in grading even at $15 if a PSA 10 will be much more valuable than a SGC 10.

@ThoseBackPages I really don’t understand what PSA does better than these other organizations. Other than an objectively aesthetically attractive slab, it’s still humans reviewing cards under a very specific set of criteria.

🚨 PSA just got hit with a massive class action lawsuit claiming its entire multi-billion-dollar grading empire started with a known FRAUD. Certificate #00000001 - the first card they ever graded - was a secretly trimmed T206 Honus Wagner. THE GRADER KNEW IT WAS ALTERED. PSA’s own rules banned it. They graded it NM-MT 8 anyway, never disclosed it, and never pulled the grade. That same slab later sold for $2.8 million and is still certified. The complaint calls it the blueprint for a $15 BILLION market built on a lie.

@Web_Chilla @Thorin After the earnings are split with the org, all players, staff, etc, than player salary for the year. Minus living expenses. I would assume only the most tenured or skilled players are truly millionaires. Not sure who he referencing though.

@Thorin Genuinely don't understand the point you're trying to make here. Is it that CS fans don't understand what a low level millionaire life is like or that CS pros are not millionaires?

CS fans calling a player who has won millions of dollars in prize money over their entire career "a millionaire" tells you about all you need to know of their economic understanding lol

@PantsToTravel @RogerSnr9e @trentjhughes Depends on the player, you have to think if its a massive player who already gets large endorsements, and a huge contract. He would likely turn down something like this for a family wedding, kids graduations, etc. Yeah its $300,000 but they need to take time for themselves too.

If you research the history of esports organizations and their ability to make a profit the only teams have ever been teams like 100T/FaZe when they were landing lucrative sponsor deals and had large names in the streaming space. The only owner in the history thats ever said we arent losing money is Nadeshot.

@Mozehh12 @CallofZumi @T2G_410 @JakeSucky They almost certainly are not, are close to breaking even, or its minimal. I think you just arent very aware of the expenses that go into operating an esports organization, events, salaries for players/staff/etc.

@Mozehh12 @CallofZumi @T2G_410 @JakeSucky Not much, Hecz sold Optic for like 35-45 million dollars, and reportedly bought it back for less than 1 million dollars. Clearly its not generating money or else they never would have sold at such a loss. They are probably just happy if they break even.
