No trading firm, consulting company, or investment bank would hire me out of college. No family connections, inside information, or technical knowledge. Just discipline and hard work. It's not easy, in fact, it will take everything you have, but you can make it on your own.

The responses to this are wild. To those who think this is crazy and and that people who can afford business travel business, I offer this: When one of the wealthiest and most sophisticated people I know was considering investing in our real estate fund. He asked me tons of detailed questions over multiple calls. His last question, before he'd decide if he wanted to proceeed: “Don, do you fly business class for work?” My answer: “I don’t fly business class during the day - but if the circumstances are such that I need to take a redeye, I fly business so I can sleep - but I pay the difference out of pocket.” He nodded and smiled. “Good. Business class is an absolute waste of money.”

Some of the richest folks on the flight happily walk by your business class seat on their way to 21A.

@chutneylife Loser mentality. I’ve juggled multiple jobs since college. It’s a blessing. Great for the mind too. You get to bitch about one job while you on the clock working the other! Life hack.

What’s stopping someone from doing two full time jobs? Plenty of people did this back in the day to make ends meet and even thrive But nowadays, people need their time off but also complain at the same time.

I know a woman with a husband who only works hard. He works all day leading his very successful contracting company, and then he comes home and does housework, helps with the kids, helps his wife, then he goes to sleep. He never takes time for himself, never kicks back and watches tv, never goes golfing, never scrolls. They’re very wealthy, they have 6 kids and she’s pregnant with a 7th, and she’s very hot and happy. If you want a hot happy wife that gives you lots of kids, you have to be like this, there’s no other way
kache@yacineMTB

My wife is very pregnant and I am very tired. I'm right now laying down on the stairs and tweeting. Like upside down. My legs are up the stairs and my head is in that middle part that turns around. I need to feed the cat but who is going to feed me?

@siddarthpaim Agree, I experienced layoff for the first time in career of 10+ years. I can see so many of my friends getting laid off. People who are already laid off know the reality while others are still in the bubble as if layoffs aren't real. glad it happnd coz I just made my first sale!

@HotForMoot @_baklon @gimletmonocle Gang if he really as wealthy as you say he’d have live in help or things like that. You literally need like 500k+ a year for all that. No one at those levels doing all that bs!

The “high risk” while you’re young, “low risk” later idea never made sense to me. I’d rather win in a lower risk way. Then swing big and go “high risk” once you have skills + a few million dollars in the bank. Am I way off base?

USCIS@USCIS

This year’s H-1B season is wrapping up, and we’re seeing great results from @POTUS’ new policies that prioritize America First! Stay tuned for more updates, but here’s what we’re seeing so far: ✅More top talent: We’re approving more applicants with advanced degrees and higher salaries—especially those who studied at U.S. universities. An overwhelming 71.5% of selected aliens hold a U.S. master’s degree or higher, compared to 57% last year. ✅Stronger workforce: These skilled workers are making a real impact on our economy and we’re closing the door on the low-wage and low-skilled foreign labor pipeline approved under Biden administration policies. This year, only 17.7% of all selected registrations were in the lowest wage category. ✅Restoring integrity: The number of properly submitted registrations plummeted by 38.5%, from 343,981 in fiscal year 2026 to just 211,600 in fiscal year 2027. This data is a clear sign that the days of abusing the program with mass, low-wage registrations are over, and that the program is better serving its intended purpose of attracting highly skilled foreign workers and protecting the wages, working conditions, and job opportunities of American workers. More details coming soon!

$700K at 21. The Jane Street logo was on his high school t-shirts. Hilal - MIT junior, Thomas Jefferson math school. Jane Street, Citadel, and HRT sponsor American high school math olympiads - AMC, HMMT, CMIMC. He wore their merch in 10th grade, before he knew what market making was. Same math, same coin-flip puzzles - just Manhattan and a $300K base instead of the lottery. 8 minutes of the most honest breakdown of how the quant pipeline works. Save it. Ask yourself why you're still polishing a resume for a $4K/month remote job.

@itsseanlundberg @TheRealDanSaedi In any other generation in American history such a company would have IPOed much earlier and people would have an opporutnity to build wealth through either "shorting" it or investing in it!

@itsseanlundberg @TheRealDanSaedi Let's ignore shorting or belieinvg in it the fundamental idea that its existed since 2006 and in the private markets has 1000x or 10,000x or more is the issue. How you can't comprehend this is beyond my understanding!

@itsseanlundberg @TheRealDanSaedi With Nvidia Amazon and such people who believed in the vision could have 5,900x and 2,200x or smth. See the fundamental issue here. If you don't get to participate in the economy you get fucked!

If you go to any city in America, there is a chance that you will meet someone who has become a millionaire from investing early in Apple, Google, Tesla or Nvidia. If you go to any city in America, there is almost a zero % chance that you encounter anyone who has become a millionaire from investing early in SpaceX, Anthropic or OpenAI. There will be severe sociopolitical consequences from this when all of the dust has settled.
