@RazorFist "I'm going weeks without uploading anything, because the entire direction of online discourse utterly repulses me." Then upload something outside of politics - Mythos, Rageaholic Cinema, video game retrospective. We could all use a break from the bullshit.

@moroni_memer It’s the common factor in folks who insist it’s okay to put off children for career, or that they’re the exception and don’t have to have ideal of mother in the home.

A friend of mine is having a really hard time. His wife decided to go back to college a couple of years ago. He had a strong feeling from the Spirit to warn her about how college indoctrinates people. She said she would be fine. One day during her FIRST SEMESTER, she came home saying, "White men really are the worst thing in this world." He was like, "I'm a white man, what are you talking about? Am I awful?" She did the "well I guess not ALL white men" thing. But insisted that they are still bad overall. Lots of arguments ensued over the coming months and years. Now she is a crazy leftist and has left the Church. This happened to a 40-year-old woman. Leftism truly is a disease, and College is Ground Zero for catching it. My friend wishes to this day he had done more to listen to that prompting and prevent her from going. People who tell you Leftism can exist in harmony with the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ are deep in Satan's power.

Life got rough, so I checked out of church for a few months. My ward’s missionary sisters never gave up; they messaged me right when I needed it most, even when I ghosted them. Tomorrow, I’m back for sacrament meeting. A fresh start in the restored Church of Jesus Christ. 🙏

You can't have nice things in America because of Niggas like this. This is why Black people are surprised when they go to a White area and see things not locked up and behind bulletproof glass.

@EtherTam @theseoguy_ Good, please stay out and take some of that ‘diversity’ with you to bless where you end up. Also, grab the SLC mayor, she’s definitely not church run and will only positively impact your town.

Works for some and doesn’t work for vast majority of others. Complicated deep rooted issues built through generations of a church run state. Don’t get me wrong, people are generally kind, but vanity, lack of cultural diversity, lack of opportunity in comparison with bigger states, spiritual judgment, and conformity pressure are a few of the top reasons. Good place to visit, doesn’t work for many to live. There’s a reason why Utah has always remained one of the lowest population states. Growth numbers are subjectively high given their actual numbers are on the smaller side in terms of population and GDP.

Every foreign policy genius who spent a decade collecting paychecks to tell us Iran was untouchable just watched a real estate developer from Queens reopen the waterway that moves a third of the world's oil. The credential class should be embarrassed into silence.

@natemaklocklin Uhm, that’s not what religious freedom means. And yes, it is a good idea to prohibit IVF since we are not ready for the implications of this being abused like abortion already is as parents pick and choose embryos based on preferences and kill off the rest. It’s fancy murder.

@JohnRWoodJr @DataRepublican @braverangels Thanks for this exchange, John. You're right, I learned the sacred value of every person in the movement, and something more -- the dignity of work, not dignity as a floating concept but dignity developed through labor which makes public contributions ( MLK Dignity of Labor)

This was a fascinating read from @DataRepublican challenging @braverangels - the org in which I serve as national ambassador. It is in my view (and experience) fundamentally wrong. But it deserves a thoughtful response. I'd be untrue to what we teach at BA if I didn't give one. I would also be untrue to what we teach at Braver Angels if I did not acknowledge the kernals of truth in what you are saying Data. I will do that as well.
DataRepublican (small r)@DataRepublican

🚨🧵 THREAD: Braver Angels says they're bipartisan and just bringing people together. Their own leadership coordinates with an anti-Trump political infrastructure network.🚨 This thread is not about BA's members. Many are sincere, and I thank @wilksopinion and @JohnRWoodJr for communicating with me. This is about the infrastructure steering them: IMIP. On August 18, 2025, Harry Boyte, a former Democratic Socialists of America board member, YES, that DSA announced Maury Giles' new role as Braver Angels CEO on video and their shift in strategy from depolarization to civic action: "David has put together a featured plenary at the National Conference on Citizenship... which will be a launch of a new stage for Braver Angels that some of us have been working on for a while." IMIP is the Inter-Movement Impact Project. It coordinates BA's strategic direction. Its own May 2025 document quotes David Brooks approvingly: "Short term: Stop Trump. Foil his efforts. Pile on the lawsuits." Braver Angels' members are bipartisan. Their leadership is adjacent to anti-Trump infrastructure. This thread has all the receipts. As always, patience as I pull together the thread.👇

@JohnRWoodJr @DataRepublican @braverangels Conservatives already know and understand the POV of progressives better than progressives do themselves. We don’t need dialogue, we want policy enacted. You want to disarm people’s self-interest and play paddy-cake. It’s textbook color revolution, and you’re the useful idiot.

@JohnRWoodJr What’s the functional difference between a DSA member and a populist communitarian? I mean, are you serious w/ this? It’s not a crocodile, it’s a leathery-skinned, 4-legged, carnivorous, amphibian…

Data Republican identifies a number of Harry's writings on organizing strategy and what some call "stealth socialism" (not something I know anything about I admit, but the phrase seems self-explanatory) as suggestive of the nature of his influence at Braver Angels as a volunteer leader. As a simple fact though, unless I am mistaken, the writings referenced date back to the 1970's and before (or rather the more recently published books Data Republican is citing are themselves citing writings from 50+ years ago). The reason this is important is because Harry left the DSA in the lates '70's and disavowed socialism. He has long considered himself a populist and a communitarian. But I know Harry well. Harry Boyte has been a mentor and tutor for me in the philosophy of Nonviolence. As a boy he organized in the south for Dr. King, but in recent years my relationship with him has been forged in a mutual agreement on the betrayal of the philosophy of nonviolence represented by the censorious culture of the mainstream modern social justice left that in case after case, institution after institution, penalized Americans for being conservative, for being insufficiently liberal even, and for having opinions that existed outside of a narrowly progressive overton window. I, as a conservative, found common ground with Harry Boyte as have conservatives from Bob Woodson to Yuval Levin and others on the importance of reviving a civic culture in American life anchored in *goodwill* and *patriotism*. Because that was the organizing culture that existed in the Civil Rights Movement. There is no doubting the leftwing policy views of Dr. King, to take it back to history. But the Civil Rights Movement was distinct on a different basis: because it taught reverence for America's founding values of freedom of speech and constitutional law. More deeply, it was rooted in a Christian moral framework deeply associated with our heritage and cultural identtiy as a nation. That is the common ground I find with Harry Boyte as a conservative. And that is what he brings to Braver Angels.

yes. policy discussion using various frameworks to facilitate that discussion (such as: a coliseum style debate where the person stands in the middle of a crowd and is questioned thru the moderator) but as you probably know, there are no longer just republican and democrats. there are far-left dems, old school dems, old school reps, trump voters, and lots of others in the mix.

The Trump administration doesn't mind using DEI to elevate incompetent people so long as the "journalist" spreading conspiratorial nonsense is on their side politically. Incredibly competent journalists should be rewarded for their competence, not the favor they show the government.

Officially credentialed Pentagon press corps as of today, alongside my interpreter @DataInterpretr. First Deaf journalist to hold the badge. Thank you @JoelValdezDOW for moving mountains to make this unique arrangement possible. Naturally, the legacy media is invited to congratulate the Department of War on their commitment to press corps inclusiveness. This wouldn't have been possible without you. Every $3 subscription and every engagement opened this door. Now I'm going to use it. Military institutional capture research starts today.
