On this Memorial Day, we honor the heroes who have gone before us. The service members and families who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. Without them, we would not be where we are today. We thank you for everything you have given and continue to give.

We are praying hard for the victims and families impacted by today’s shooting at @NASPCOLA. As a Navy veteran, today hits especially close to home. @NASPCOLA is a special place and these brave warriors come here for flight training to protect and serve our great nation.

In honor and remembrance of the victims of today’s shooting at @NASPCOLA, I have directed the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff immediately and remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday, December 13.

This has been a devastating week for our @USNavy family. Our hearts break for those who lost their lives in Pensacola and the wrenching pain it causes their loved ones. When tragedy hits, as it did today, and Wednesday in Pearl Harbor, it is felt by all.
