@MisterMoscle But leaving out the gods, the wind bag, saying the dialogue of tricking the cyclops wouldn't work, like nah bro nolan Is washed

@BlueRoseCloud I taught the Odyssey in high school so I'm pretty well versed in it and as far as adaptations go, he left in all the important stuff. I don't think the lotus eaters or the Phaecians would've contributed much to the movie and would've slowed down the pacing. He had to include Troy

@BlueRoseCloud @PWC_3 @Krinios So you like Troy more because the gods are slightly less hands on in the Iliad? You’re hilarious bruh. The odyssey is a much more faithful adaptation but you’re cherry-picking nonsense to be mad at lol

@BlueRoseCloud @PWC_3 @Krinios Apollo’s plague isnt a big part you’re right. Same with the omission of Athena stopping Achilles from killing agenemnon. R u serious lol? Theres dozens of plot points that were changed in the Troy film to suit the choice of wanting the story to be based in reality without gods

i saw the odyssey today, it was a 9 am show and it was completely sold out. and dare i say that the odyssey is one of the greatest movies ever made?? don't listen to the haters, this is an amazing movie and absolutely a must watch. nolan actually managed to bring the richness of homer's epic to the screen, if you've read the odyssey in any capacity you might know how it was considered nearly impossible to create a movie out of it. you don't need to be a greek enthusiast of any kind to understand the movie. it's surprisingly very clear with amazing exposition. i hardly saw anyone even take out their phones to even record or take a picture, everyone was so invested in the movie, and the cheers from the people during the final act?? it was crazy. this is literally one of the greatest poems ever penned in the form of cinema. go watch it and don't listen to these 'critics' who are trying to put down the movie as woke messaging because they cast a black woman as helen.

@BlueRoseCloud @PWC_3 @Krinios Why do you have no issue with the omission of the gods in Troy? Or are you just gonna ignore this reply too lol

@hzjoe03 When he hypes up something as important as the odyssey and then fucking butchers it, you can't just sit back and say respect the vision. When it was announced i was so fucking exited, but he changed too much.

When will people realise that an ADAPTION can be whatever the director envisions, and we should allow them to interpret and create whatever they want from a story, especially when the output is incredible
Modern McCarthyist@McCarthyist2

Im surprised more people aren’t talking about just how atrocious this scene is in the Odyssey. Nolan took a part of the story about savage giants who throw boulders at and eat Odysseus’s crew and changed them to be weird 12ft tall medieval knights or something.

@17Jzip @PWC_3 @Krinios The horse, the lack of the council of gods, the lack of the gods, whatever the fuck the did to athena. Aeolus and the wind bag. All important, all missing

@BlueRoseCloud @PWC_3 @Krinios Your issue is the fact that the horse(which is literally made of wood lol, look at the set pictures) “doesn’t look like wood” true bro that def makes it a horrible adaptation 😭 you people arent real

@BlueRoseCloud @PWC_3 @Krinios What about Troy makes it a more faithful adaptation? What parts of Troy really make it better than the odyssey? You have no issue with the omission of the gods from the 2004 movie lmao?

@BlueRoseCloud @PWC_3 @Krinios Have you ever watched a movie you retard lmao? It’s Chris Nolan’s the odyssey, it’s genuinely nonsensical to expect hed turn the poem into a script without thematic changes. Every movie adaptation takes some liberties with the source material.

@17Jzip @PWC_3 @Krinios In the actual odyssey, Hermes plays a crucial role. Omitting a crucial role is fucked. Not to mention how they handled athena.

@BlueRoseCloud @PWC_3 @Krinios It’s a movie thats less than 3 hours long aj the omission of Hermes’ kinda makes sense when you realize none of the gods or goddesses actually effect the narrative. Nolan let’s the audience decide if they’re really ruling over or if it’s just the faith of the characters
