The Odyssey is the best movie in like a decade lmao

It's funny how everyone is complaining about the diversity of the Greek army in The Odyssey when the Greek city states were notorious for using mercenaries from other countries. It's actually far more likely that the army was not all Greek dudes.

@mcqueenkachow12 F1 is a fantastic fantastic movie but it doesn't explore the heavy themes as the odyssey. Also filmmaking wise, the odyssey is far more impressive when you keep in mind Nolan's lack of CGI.

@theNige_007 The music was honestly the most disappointing part for me. Apparently Nolan didn't allow Ludwig to use any modern orchestra so the whole score is done using old rebuilt Greek instruments which is admirable but authenticity didnt really work here

@MisterMoscle I also think an important piece of any potential Masterpiece film is a memorable score... & that just didn't happen. The music & sound was NOT on the same level as Dune, Interstellar, Batman Begins, etc etc. I wanted to love it but it really didn't live up to my expectations.

@BlueRoseCloud I like the exclusion of the gods because we see them the way the characters would. Just plain belief without any evidence. Odysseus' commitment to Zeus' law without ever seeing Zeus himself or having no evidence he even exists is really powerful. The wind bag is silly tbh lmao
