@srihicks @twalatka They said they made that call based on exit polls. The people answering the exit polls were almost all fro Gore. But they did it before the polls closed in western Florida. It was a suppression tactic that worked, just not quite well enough.

@srihicks @twalatka There's a history of that, certainly. I remember in 2000, the networks called Florida for Gore when Gore was 50,000 votes BEHIND, and the polls in the western part of the state were still open. When Gore was 100,000 votes behind, they changed it to "too close to call."
