@BitcoinTaxUK Burnham will change that and death tax all of us. I’ll say the 25% tax free is the best if planned properly but if that gets removed not really so attractive to save in pensions.

The biggest tax misconception I see? Pensions. Everyone knows the upside. Almost nobody plans for the downside. Here's the bit that gets missed. Short term, pensions look brilliant. Tax relief going in. No tax on the growth. It feels like free money. And in isolation, that part is true. But the tax doesn't vanish. It waits. When you draw the money in retirement, it's income tax. You didn't dodge the tax. You deferred it. That's not automatically bad. Get 40% relief going in, draw it at 20% later, take 25% tax-free, and you're genuinely ahead. The problem is when there's no gap between those two rates. Then you've moved the tax, not saved it. Now the bigger shift most people have missed. Pensions used to sit outside your estate. That made them a brilliant way to pass wealth on with no inheritance tax. As it stands, That's ending. From 6 April 2027, most unused pension funds and death benefits get pulled into your estate for inheritance tax. And here's the sting. Die after 75 and your family can be taxed twice. Inheritance tax at 40%, then income tax when they draw it. Stack those and the effective rate can pass 60%. None of this means pensions are bad. The relief is real. Employers matching is real. Tax-free growth is real. For a lot of people they're still the right call. It means the size of your pension pot is a decision, not a default. Max it? Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. It depends on your goals, short term and long. The lesson is simple. Plan for the exit, not just the entry. Most people optimise the money going in and ignore the tax coming out. Don't be most people. If you're not sure which side of that you fall on, it's worth mapping it out properly well before April 2027 with your Accountant.

30 million people visited Portugal last year. Most of them left thinking the same thing: could I live here? My honest answer, after weeks on this thread, surprised even us. I live near Lisbon, and my wife has run a development company here for ten years, over a hundred residential and commercial units delivered. I tried to do for Portugal what I did for Italy and Greece: find the interior areas where you'd buy a rural house. We couldn't. We wouldn't live in the Portuguese interior ourselves, and I never advise what I wouldn't do myself. Portugal, for us, is the coast: 11 places where you can buy an incredible house, live quietly, and keep the ocean at your door. Every one passes the same test: we would buy there ourselves. Where you'd overpay, including the most famous name in the country, I say it plainly. Thread 🧵

the environmentalists refuse to believe it but AI will be the best thing that ever happened to conservation. the best example right now is deep in the Amazon: Microsoft trained AI on the Amazon's satellite imagery, camera traps and bioacoustics data to catch illegal logging and mining 24/7 the problem they're solving is brutal. the Amazon covers 6 million square kilometers across 9 countries, so most illegal mines and logging camps operate where no human will ever walk past. Colombia alone holds 10% of the forest. even monitoring just that slice used to take the government almost 2 years per report meaning by the time anyone confirmed illegal activity, the loggers had moved on and the trees were long gone their answer is Project Guacamaya (macaw in Spanish), built by Microsoft's AI for Good Lab with Planet Labs and a network of Colombian universities here's how it works: 1. every day, Planet Labs satellites photograph the entire Colombian Amazon in high resolution. > AI compares each day's images to the day before and flags anything that changed. > the biggest red flag is a new road, because illegal clearing usually follows the same script: path, then road, then clearing, then mine or farm 2. satellites only see the forest from above, so hidden cameras on the ground photograph whatever moves past. > one camera can produce 300,000 photos, most of them empty. > AI deletes the blanks and keeps the shots that actually show animals, people, or vehicles 3. microphones record the forest around the clock while an audio AI tracks the soundscape > because a forest under stress starts to sound different before it looks different 4. everything the AI flags goes to human researchers, who now only have to review about 10% of what gets collected thanks to AI the results are already showing up. spotting illegal clearing dropped from almost 2 years to 2-3 weeks. and Colombia's government institute for deforestation is building the models into its official reporting so alerts land with people who can send enforcement teams while the clearing is still happening. and since the whole system is open source, Peru is adopting it next hopefully the rest of the Amazonian countries follow suit!

Assuming you could choose, where would you raise your kids, US or Europe? What's your thinking process on this? I've been discussing this with friends for months now and it's anything but an easy question

$TAO is ~67% of my portfolio i first bought in December 2022 at $26 very few were talking about it then compared to now i thought it was special, unique no one was doing what Bittensor was doing & you can’t easily copy & paste their business model a lot of projects expand & fade but TAO has been building almost 4 years later & im not any less convinced i have even more conviction the fundamentals have only gotten stronger that’s why $TAO makes up over 2/3 of my portfolio

Out of these nine RWA projects, how many are still relevant in 2031? $LINK, $HBAR, $ONDO, $AVAX, $INJ, $VET, $XLM, $ALGO, $PLUME Be honest. Not all of them survive. The ones with real institutional rails, regulatory clarity and actual usage do. Which ones make the cut? 👇

My 401k is up 34% in the last year. My $BTC is down 13% in the last year. My $MSTR is down 55% in the last year. My $KAS is down 55% in the last year. I have more than enough allocation to $BTC, $MSTR, and $KAS where if the sound money hypothesis materializes, I'll be in a great spot. In the off-chance the sound money movement doesn't materialize, I'll have my index funds. Concentration can help build or destroy wealth. Diversification preserves wealth. Based on your life circumstances, concentrate or diversify accordingly.
