Baltimore institutions are absolutely unprepared for these young people and I love that for us and for the actual future safety of the city. @BCPSSUnion

Happy 4/20!-- Remember weed prohibition was a product of increased resentment towards Mexican immigrants during unemployment in the Great Depression, fear brown and Black ppl would corrupt yt youth (ESPECIALLY) yt women and that they would would "forget their place in society"

Freddie Gray died this day in 2015. He was picked up in an area that had just increased police presence because of "drug selling" in the neighborhood. This is why we advocate for PWUD & people targeted by the racist war on drugs. For more read caption on insta-post @bmorehrc

“People said it was radical and I said it’s righteous,” said @samrivera1111 at a major #RxSummit2023 session about opening OnPoint in New York City to save lives and uplift the health, humanity and dignity of people who use drugs

To everyone who submitted a public comment, filled out an action alert, contacted their legislator, helped boost a post – THANK YOU! Over 2000 Marylanders contacted their legislators in support of trans folks this session. Our ability to make change together is LIMITLESS. 💕🏳️‍⚧️

Credit for the passage of the Trans Health Equity Act is shared among a VERY long list of people who worked incredibly hard to pass this bill. 🏳️‍⚧️💕 On the last day of #MDGA23, THANK YOU to all who played a part – from elected leaders to our teams of advocates to YOU! 🧵⤵️

Two of my bills that @GovLarryHogan vetoed passed the Maryland House again. I'm hopeful @GovWesMoore doesn't want to give residents four years in prison for syringe possession or have them arrested for small debts (yes that's what these bills repeal). 👇

Act Now to Limit Solitary in Maryland Now is a critical moment to push for the Maryland legislature and Governor to drastically restrict the use of solitary confinement. Please take one minute to urge Maryland lawmakers to enact SB459/HB385 today! bit.ly/RestrictSolita…

Suppose we had always put health and safety 1st, making clean syringe access easy; then a new proposal: complicate access, tap police time, issue fines & prison stays for those in need. Now that's Radical! Pass SB762 @BmoreHRC @MDSenate #drugpolicy

On July 1st, marijuana will be legal in MD. There’s no reason the odor of a legal substance should continue to be used as a tool by law enforcement to stop and search people, Judiciary should pass HB 1071 w/ no loopholes for cops or prosecutors @DavidMoon2014 @LukeClippinger
