@calvinfroedge that's the typical argument against multiculturalism. As soon as prosperity collapses all ethnic groups are gonna kill each others.

If you're not white in the United States you need to understand that the only thing stopping about half of white people from killing you is they're not sure they'd get away with it I'm not ashamed of being white and not all white people are bad but there is tremendous racism

This is a very good example of high sexual neuroticism but on an institutional level, you have the implicit idea that male desire is immoral and dirty and dangerous, that it contaminates female dignity, violates them with unconsented-to sexualization, but with the added institutional level that male desire is a moral danger must be managed from the outside, that some sort of external authority, in this case the broadcaster, needs to be tasked with managing the possible sexual perception of female athletes because it's unacceptable and even dangerous that male desire be activated. And you can tell this is female neuroticism because at no point is it suggested that women perform in clothes that aren't one step above underwear - no, it's the dirty men and their horrible sexual leering that taints something innocent with scary and threatening sexuality. So you end up with institutional sexual neuroticism treating male desire as a public risk that must be managed by authority

New broadcasting guidelines for women's athletics have been released to crack down on camera angles and slow-motion replays that ‘sexualize’ athletes The guidelines highlight shots broadcasters are urged to avoid

Almost everything you picture when you hear Cleopatra is wrong, and the truth is far more interesting. Start here. Cleopatra was not Egyptian. Her family was Greek, descended from one of Alexander the Great's generals who grabbed Egypt after Alexander died. They ruled for nearly 300 years while barely bothering to learn the local language. Cleopatra was the first one in that entire dynasty to actually learn Egyptian. She reportedly spoke around nine languages and did her own diplomacy without translators. Now the fact that breaks people's brains. Cleopatra lived closer in time to the Moon landing than to the building of the Great Pyramid. The Pyramid was already about 2,500 years old and ancient when she was born. She would have looked at it the way we look at her. And she was not the pin up the movies sell. The historian Plutarch, writing from older sources, said her looks alone were nothing extraordinary. What floored people was her mind, her wit, and her voice, which he said was like an instrument she could tune to any language or mood. She talked her way into power in a world run entirely by men. She was also a serious ruler, not just a romance. She ran the wealthiest kingdom in the Mediterranean, stabilized its economy, presented herself as a living goddess to her people, and played the two most powerful Romans of the age, Julius Caesar and then Mark Antony, in a desperate long game to keep Egypt independent. That game finally ran out in 30 BC. With Antony dead and Rome's armies closing in, she chose to end her own life rather than be paraded through Rome as a trophy. Legend says a venomous snake. Some historians think poison. Either way, she went out on her own terms. Rome won, then wrote her story, so for 2,000 years she got remembered as a seductress. She was really something Rome found far more threatening. A brilliant woman who almost beat them.

I have a mystery on my hands: > I get an email from a streamer with a pretty good following, they want a key to my game > I verify that their email matches their twitch profile > I check their streaming history and they don't stream any 2d indie games???? Is this a scam? wtf? I don't get it, generally the emails mismatch slightly or something so I know it's not really them. They've got ~63k followers.

In an 1806 duel, Andrew Jackson (the 7th American president) knew he couldn't outdraw master marksman Charles Dickinson. His survival strategy was brutal: he deliberately let Dickinson shoot him first. Under the rules of dueling, once a man fired, he was required to stand motionless on his mark and await his opponent's return fire. If Jackson rushed his shot to beat Dickinson, he might miss. By absorbing the bullet, Jackson bought himself the time to aim with absolute precision. Dickinson fired. A cloud of dust puffed from Jackson’s coat as the bullet struck him squarely in the chest. But Jackson did not fall. He simply raised his left hand to his chest, stood perfectly still, and leveled his pistol. Jackson survived the immediate impact because of a wardrobe trick and his gaunt physique. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing only about 145 pounds, Jackson wore a loose, oversized dark blue frock coat. When he took his mark, he turned sideways in a bladed stance. Dickinson aimed exactly where a man's heart should be based on the drape of the coat. The bullet hit the precise spot Dickinson intended, but Jackson's actual heart was an inch or two away. The ball shattered two ribs and lodged deep in his chest cavity. Despite the massive trauma, Jackson masked his pain through sheer willpower and spite. He despised Dickinson—who had publicly insulted his wife—and was determined not to give the marksman the satisfaction of knowing he had landed a successful shot before dying. Jackson later said, 'I should have hit him, if he had shot me through the brain.' Jackson pulled his trigger, but the pistol stopped at half-cock. He calmly pulled the hammer all the way back, took aim again, and shot Dickinson in the abdomen. Dickinson fell and bled to death hours later. Jackson casually walked away from the dueling ground with his surgeon, hiding his wound until they were out of sight of Dickinson's seconds. It was only when the surgeon noticed blood sloshing inside Jackson's left boot that he realized the future president had been hit. The bullet was too close to the heart to be safely removed, and Jackson carried it inside his chest for the remaining 39 years of his life. #drthehistories

Romance craziness is a natural and healthy stage for girls to go through and it has been 50% of the driving force for the human race propagating itself. Embarrassing as it seems in retrospect, it is healthy. If our society hadn’t been constructed to lock young people out of the option for marrying in their late teens/early twenties, this would seem even less out of place. Teenage girls behaving like grannies is not healthy for society or for the girls themselves. Howl’s Moving Castle is a story exactly about this. A teen girl named Sophie who thinks she’s too ugly & mature for romance is cursed by a witch to become an old lady. She cries bitter tears for what she has missed despite the fact that she herself had only just been pushing her away. The wizard howl brings her back her youth not with a spell but by teaching her its okay to be immature, to express yourself and to LIVE.
BC🕯️🧺@BeckyTheChicken

Clutch your pearls if you want. I wish I didn’t waste my teenage years dreaming, writing in my diary, & being totally cringe about boys that never looked at me twice. Consuming romantic media was a total waste of time and only fed my delusions.

Epic moment on 10y/3m This is (3M) view - plenty of time but if +60bps is now permanently broken post inversion - you know what that means. And if (3M)MA50 will be broken too, which is on very very low level it'll confirm all the thesis. My golden rule says : "Market peaks once US03MY breaks (M)MA50 (November 2025) AND 10y/3m permanently uninverts above +60bps" - this thesis is still being validated.

This is the parallel/bear flag I am watching on #gold. It also shows why the overnight low was exactly where it was. Break down from this and it likely takes out 3900 and that remains the level I am waiting for. BUT, I still DO NOT think 3900 is likely the bottom and my base case for the bottom is 3200-3400. I will still likely take a trade at 3900 for a bounce and if that starts to look like a more major bottom, I would hold the position longer. I have posted about these targets many times and if it's of interest, here's a recent post with my charts; x.com/icooperTrades/… #metals #trading #investing $GOLD $GLD $GLL $GDX

#Gold down 1.6% today and has now given up most of the gains from the last week or so. There's no real change on the chart with the orange line still key resistance. It also hasn't broken the structure of the bear flag so hasn't broken down yet (unlike #silver which I will post about next). $4000 is now a key level for the bulls with the round number likely to be defended. BUT, it has now had 10 straight days trading just above 4000 and if there was going to be a bounce, it should have happened by now. This means that buyers haven't fully stepped up at this level and it makes the probability of a break down the most likely outcome (this is how/why bear flags work). I have still had many people telling me I am wrong and an idiot calling for $3900 but that is still the level I am looking at. HOWEVER, when price consolidates this long just above a level, it reduces the chances of that level holding so I am now cautious at 3900. I will judge the level at the time but I still think there is 50% or more chance of hitting the 3200-3400 box I have highlighted in my zoomed out chart. $GLD $GLL $GDX #trading #investing $gold #metals

This will make you millions in the stock market. Save this so you ALWAYS know what will happen. One of my secrets is always monitoring HEAVY truck sales. When the economy turns weak, companies are the first to react by lowering spending and procurement, causing heavy logistics to decrease. Conversely, when economic conditions improves, the purchase of trucks would rebound. It's that simple. When truck sales are above 0.47M (top quartile): 1. economy is running hot 2. start playing a bit more defensive 3. raise quality in your portfolio When truck sales are between 0.25M and 0.47M: 1. normal range 2. stay the course 3. hold your winners When truck sales crash below 0.25M: 1. the economy is bottoming 2. get aggressive 3. this is where generational wealth is built Right now? Truck sales are at 0.43M. 73rd percentile. Not in the danger zone yet.

Kids tend not to do stupid things because there is a zero tolerance policy for stupid things. One slip up, and your life is fucked. Life is precarious enough even if you do everything right. Since everything fun is stupid, and no one wants to do anything that isn't fun, and besides which since kids are stupid and cannot always distinguish what is a stupid thing, the only way to avoid doing a stupid thing is to not do anything at all, and just stay home on your phone. The only way to solve this is deliberately open space for kids to be stupid again. Boys in particular. But the self-righteousness of boomers and their millennial minions will never permit this. Instead they're just going to try to kick kids off social media and regulate the Internet (in the name of safety) to the point where it's impossible to have fun there, too. Then they'll wonder why the kids just start killing themselves.
E.J. Free, Jackalope Rancher@EJFreeAuthor

@HariSel57511397 Fine then. Get a car so you can drive around with your friends and do stupid things. This whole trend of kids not even *wanting* cars (I know it’s hard to find cheap ones these days, thanks Obama) is just utterly baffling. It’s freedom with a throttle.
