FSD V14.3 - Jaes first impressions
For anyone with a wife that doesn't care to listen to the "nerds" talk about FSD this video is probably perfect - it's a "normal" person giving their impressions of 14.3 and where we are today with FSD.
My video will be out tomorrow - but I just have to give a massive shoutout to Jae for taking the time out of her day to film this video ❤️

@DevinOlsenn Still need to watch Jae's first impressions, but from what you can tell, does the quicker reaction times also bring back some of the hesitation from 14.1 where it was hyper sensitive at times as well? Early versions of 14.1 made me a bit anxious at times.
English

@DirtyTesLa Max Speed is needed or the profiles need fixed. Standard im 55 mph zones appears broken, and that should be the "set it and forget it" profile.

English

@DevinOlsenn Wishing you growing and continued success! Thanks for putting out honest and informative content.

Payday from X 🎉
I’ve said from the start that I want to be transparent about how much money I earn on here - I think it helps demystify the whole rev share thing for folks who want to know.
Anyways I just have to say thank you so much to each and every one of you that chose to engage in my content, watch my videos, and support me via subscribing. I spend countless hours creating content because I truly love doing it, but making money along the way is definitely really appreciated.
Also thanks to @nikitabier and everyone at X - I don’t think there’s another social media platform out there that pays creators the way you do. ❤️
Cheers all! Have a great weekend.

@AIDRIVR @99brownKb Did you happen to go through any 55 zones on Standard? 14.2 is usually going 70+ for me

English

@DevinOlsenn @ZacksJerryRig We are only supposed to call out the companies we don't like, come on...

I can’t wait to get level 3 autonomy on my Gen 1 R1S
Should we do a road trip with it @ZacksJerryRig
ΛI DRIVR@AIDRIVR
@ZacksJerryRig HW3 is still getting updates there is a company that promised L3 in 2020 and never shipped anything though…
English

@DavidMoss @scotsrule08 The reaction time of FSD is impressive, but it does look like you stop before you get on the road.
English

I trust Tesla Self Driving with my life, literally:
Watch as FSD v14.3 reacts instantly to me jumping out in front of it at speed on a pitch black road
@scotsrule08 behind the wheel of my 2025 Model 3
English

@DevinOlsenn My question is, do you think V15 will be available on current HW4 cars? If this is the big update that brings Unsupervised, I don't think so. I think we are approaching the limits of what the current hardware can do. If we do get Unsupervised, it will be in limited situations.
English

The 10x parameter release will be in FSD V15.
Any guesses when we will get v15?
Elon Musk@elonmusk
@Chansoo Our rate of advancement with the small model has been so fast that the large model has not yet caught up. V15 will be the large model.
English

@GlobalCop @Teslarati Standard should be the in between choice going with the flow of traffic. The only options shouldn't be going the speed limit with sloth/chill or 15+ miles over the speed limit. I've tried changing from Standard to Chill in these scenarios and the deceleration feels unsafe.
English

So then set it to sloth or chill. How is this a problem? So you would rather have the navigation take you the wrong way on one-way streets or tell you that a street that's 30 mph is actually 55? The map data problems are 10 times worse than the fact that it speeds. Just turn it down. Just use sloth and you'll go the speed limit. Unless of course it doesn't know what the speed limit is and that's a map problem
English

I think it’s time to talk about Tesla FSD v14.3
It seems obvious that the community as a whole expected more and that’s understandable due to the “final piece of the puzzle” comments. As someone who was highly critical of v14.2.2.5, I was refreshed with the v14.3 improvements.
But I can kinda see where people expected more. Take Nav/Routing out of it, because it’s obviously a huge challenge.
I think most of these complaints come from the “Max Speed” people and I think that’s reasonable considering Speed Profiles:
1) are not incredibly consistent - at times Mad Max goes under the speed limit and at times Hurry will travel 20+ over the speed limit
AND
2) People simply might prefer the car traveling at a speed they are comfortable with while also performing some of the behaviors certain Speed Profiles have - I don’t want to go 20+ MPH over on the highway on “Hurry,” going 10-12 over would be sufficient and still would pass cars when needed.
However, I see what Tesla is doing with that and in the spirit of taking away controls a little bit at a time it’s important to get people comfortable with less customization. We don’t choose how fast the plane flies to the train travels. We just get on/in and go, and that’s what autonomy will be with cars.
Overall I have seen a lot of improvements with some of my biggest complaints from the previous version: hesitation and assertiveness are both much better and FSD is making better decisions.
It’s an improvement — substantial as some expect? Maybe not. But it’s still forward rather than back.
I think the jump from v14.1 to v14.2 was relatively similar, but the outrage wasn’t there.
These were the big changes between those versions:
- Upgraded neural network vision encoder (higher-resolution features for better detection of emergency vehicles, road obstacles, and human gestures)
- New Self-Driving Stats menu (tracks FSD usage percentage)
- UI changes allowing speed profile and arrival option adjustments before starting FSD
- Reduced brake stabbing and hesitation at intersections
- Smoother overall driving feel (less jerky acceleration/deceleration and steering)
- Refined emergency vehicle handling (pull over/yield behaviors)
- Improved navigation integration for real-time blocked roads and detours
- More assertive yet patient behavior in complex scenarios (unprotected turns, lane changes, cut-ins)
I guess people expected more, and this is due to the hype. But I don’t love seeing people say there are zero improvements. That’s unequivocally false.

English

@Teslarati Thank you for highlighting it. I was just pointing out that even on Standard where someone is not trying to excessively speed, it can do just that. Keep up the good work. Its appreciated.
English

@Teslarati Did you drive through any 55 MPH zones on Standard? One of my biggest issues with 14.2 is going 70+ in a 55 in Standard.
English

@DevinOlsenn Well she's a trooper! Be sure to let your audience know we appreciate her dedication to the cause.
English

@BobaF3ta She did it on her own, she knows what the people want to see 😅

FSD V14.3 Destination Parking at Costco
Surprised to see the car go past an empty spot exactly where the P icon was and then navigate into an adjacent parking lot that is not open to Costco shoppers.
Sorry about the audio; the full version will have better audio - just trying to get some clips out in the mean time.
English

@DirtyTesLa This sounds awful. Hoping we get to choose parking preferences soon. I rather park further away with some space than driving in circles for the best spot.
English

@DevinOlsenn Dont think she should record and show it, but does it still make the same navigation mistakes when she goes to the gym?
English

Any specific questions for Jae let me know and I’ll see if she can answer them later

Devin Olsen@DevinOlsenn
FSD V14.3 downloading now! Jae will be out later today to do a first drive as I am away from home for the next week or so. 😭
English

@SawyerMerritt FSD now is so good already, but I'm bummed to see Speed Profiles seem to be the same. 55 mph on Standard currently seems broken and goes way too fast. 72 in a 55 on Standard is unacceptable.
English

Tesla FSD V14.3 first drive impressions:
• Highway follow distance is more comfortable
• Quicker take off from stop signs after coming to a complete stop
• Highway lane change hesitation from previous versions seems gone for me
• The navigation routes it takes are still sometimes confusing
• It understood detour signs correctly on its way to a Supercharger, but got confused after with how to navigate to the Supercharger. It eventually figured it out.
• For the most part, FSD does seem to be choosing parking spots closer to the designation, which is good, but I'm not noticing a big change in parking behavior overall.
• Blinker activates later than previous version of FSD, a nice improvement
• Speed profiles seem mostly the same
Overall, I'm not noticing huge changes vs 14.2.2.5 in my first couple of drives, so I need more time with it. V14.3 does need some smoothening out, but I expect that with a bigger dot release like this. V14.3 feels like it's setting the stage for something larger to come, and that further reasoning capabilities will be added in future FSD updates.
English

@DevinOlsenn Can't wait to see 14.3 in action! Any predictions on what the most noticeable improvements will be?
