What blows my my mind about Europe is that they don't have whole-house fans.
They used to be popular in the US. My childhood home has one. A four-foot diameter fan run off a belt and a big electric motor; set in the ceiling of the back hall behind a louvered door. Close up the windows except at the opposite end of the house, crank it up full blast and the back hall becomes a wind tunnel that can lift small dogs off their feet. Fire it up at night to cool the entire house down, then set the timer switch to shut down come early morning, close up the few open windows on your way out the door for work and the whole house stays cool the rest of the day, its own insulation rejecting the heat trying to seep in from outside. My parents have A/C now but for much of the summer they don't actually need to use it thanks to that fan. Much lower power cost.
Do people just not know about this shit or something? WE HAVE THE FUCKING TECHNOLOGY

@planefag Another reason I love ours, if you ever screw up and burnt something in the kitchen, you can clear all the smoke out of your house in about 45 seconds.

The house I live in now has one. I learned that you have to make sure you have a couple of windows open pretty wide. I couldn't figure out why the pilot light on my hot water heater kept going out. If you're not careful this thing will actually suck carbon monoxide into your house from your furnace or your hot water heater. Make sure you have a lot of windows open

I spent 45 minutes driving around downtown Kalamazoo using FSD 14.3.3 on HW4 over Memorial Day weekend. (Video coming soon). As a HW3 owner that uses FSD every single day, my #1 observation was that 14.3.3 felt way too sensitive to stuff going on around it. That can be a good thing. Sure. But it can also be a bad thing. For example, it slammed on the brakes for a dog that was on a leash on the sidewalk when the dog suddenly lurched towed the road. It slowed down for a bird. It even made some weird hesitations for some cracks on the road. Then it parked wrong. After that drive, I had more appreciation for FSD 12.6.4… I’m sure I could get used to 14.3.3 over time. But it just felt too sensitive to me. 🫤

@FSDyinzer @ChuckCook @Tesla_AI Call me crazy but this is better. The front of the 26Y is low. Parking curbs would eat it up if it didn’t leave space.

I think @ChuckCook brought this up in a recent video, and I know I’ve called this out before because I notice this frequently but while FSD is parking facing inward @Tesla_AI can you please clean up the excessive distance between the front of the parking spot and the front of the car? i.e. tighten it up.
Pic #1 is at Sheetz this morning but it wasn’t a big deal since the parking spots are rather long, but in Pic #2 its like FSD didn’t even try to pull forward as much as it could/should so my ass was hanging out in a tight parking lot. It’s sloppy parking and it seems like we aren’t really utilizing the front bumper camera???
When you’re parking in a long line of cars and you’re the only car who’s ass is CLEARLY sticking out, it’s kind of embarrassing and it increases the risk of some bozo swiping my car bc they’re not paying attention.

Yeah all these regressions where the car is worse at things that used to be good at, that's the problem. I never thought I would have to pull forward because I'm used to the car parking properly. I never thought I would have to punch the accelerator at a green light because the car slammed on the brakes because it sees a red left turn arrow. I can't use it for Uber driving anymore because it scares my passengers. That was never a problem before. Has anybody else noticed that it takes these really wide left turns and then jerks the steering wheel bunch of times to correct?

People that like standard time are strange folks. Is there actually people that like it dark at 8:00 all summer? And 5:30 in the winter? Permanent daylights savings is the answer.

That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day. This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm. The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone. A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time. Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans. We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all. Fix the time zones and affix standard time.

We still have a night in Summer, it’s just starts later.
Makes all the sense for extended light during the time kids are out of school, they can enjoy the outdoors & their parents can do it with them.

@jamesawhiite @ramzpaul Nobody cares about solar noon. We don’t need more daytime in the morning. We want it after work - at least those of us who actually work for a living. Symmetrical days mean exactly nothing. The increased daylight should be skewed to the evenings.

How is there any tension or excitement in an action scene with 10 people advancing on a house with unlimited ammunition? And they're basically shooting unarmed civilians.
Even if that is the setup, how about making it a little more interesting by showing that they have some type of tactical prowess. How about a little bound and cover? How about conserving ammunition so when you finally get to the objective you have something left. This is a joke. This is like asking a couple of 9-year-olds to write your script for you. And the people who enjoy this... They must just eat candy and pizza every night for dinner if they like this junk
