@leyeConnect Genuinely. Other platforms, like Canva, Figma, Affinity etc., offer more broad-spectrum edits and speedy workflows that require technical know-how to replicate on Illustrator and not as quickly, but the intricacies of vector design are still experienced best on Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator has so much feature depth for vector manipulation that I laugh at people who think this tool can be replaced easily.

@Bobs2023 Unsolicited advice: don’t go trying to build custom typefaces on brand projects that the client won’t pay for. It’s just extra work.

One thing they don’t tell you when you’re a brand designer learning type design is that you inflicted with a curse afterwards where you want to custom-type every brand project you’re faced with.
