Considering the Red Sox defense has been the one silver lining thus far and both Durbin and Mayer have defended their positions extremely well—safe to say Alex Cora was right.

Craig Breslow and Alex Cora disagreeed in spring training about where to play Marcelo Mayer and Caleb Durbin, according to @jcmccaffrey. Breslow originally wanted Mayer at 3B and Durbin at 2B. Chad Tracy said there’s no plans at this point to make a switch.

The Red Sox offense stinks, but the guys who most of us targeted this past offseason (or we wished were still here) — Isaac Parades, Alex Bregman, Rafael Devers and Pete Alonso — are hitting a combined .231 with a .677 OPS to start the year. Screwed no matter what.
